grandmabee Posted July 7, 2009 Report Share Posted July 7, 2009 who files 8878? after looking at the form it seems I should have had all my extension using 4868 also sign a 8878 to efile it. I know this has been discussed on this form about not having anything signed because they don't have to sign a paper one but now I wonder...... have any of you had your client sign the 8878 before efiling the 4868? David1980 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Share Posted July 8, 2009 It's only used when the taxpayer is making an electronic funds withdrawal to cover the estimated tax liability, and you are using the practitioner PIN method.
