As you know the minimum wage went up to $8.00 per hr. on the 1st. My question is does this raise pertain to hours worked starting January 1 or let's say a person's pay day falls on the first, would the minimum wage increase apply to the check he get's on the first or would it become effective on the 15th when he has actually earned the increase? For those who have a split pay period, for example some time worked in 07 and some in 08 you can pay based on both rates. Found the answer on Calchamber.com Deb!
