The "Check Box" expiring after a year is so frustrating. I often wonder why they even have it since, in my experience, most issues come to light after the year is up. It should remain in effect for at least the 3-year SOL period.2 points

I feel you on that. The whole "Check Box" expiring after a year is just baffling. And it seems like a really missed opportunity to actually help people to resolve their issues. It would make way more sense to keep it open for the three year statute of limitations most problems come up after that year. That would remove everyone from having a lot of hassle and confusion.1 point

WE all know that the IRS has been woefully underfunded until recently. This isn't to disparage mcb39 and GR2's comments, but you've got to give them time to hire and train people.1 point
