  1. I try to make auditors as comfortable as possible.  I have found that if you are nice to them, they usually tend to be a little more lenient with the client.  It works more often than not.  As KC says, they work year round and can't just sit in their office and twiddle their thumbs during tax season.  What bugs me is all the workmen's comp audits that have to be done during tax season.

  2. I didn't say I am not trying to keep up.  I'm just saying that it is harder when you get older.  The brain doesn't work as efficiently as you age.  I sincerely hope your brain is still as efficient 20 years from now as it is now.  Also, some people are naturally smarter than others and I recognize that I am not one of the smarter ones.  I also recognize that there is a difference between knowledge, intelligence, and wisdom.

Duplex printing if you must use paper.  For most of my clients, a 200 page client copy doesn't make their flash drive any larger...

After all, it is 2016.  16 years into the 21st Century...

I liked the 20th century a lot better.  It was a lot simpler.  When you become "elderly", technology becomes more difficult.

Maybe it will resolve itself after the clock touching this coming weekend.    I hate the touching of clocks.  lol

I would like to see the time go back an hour each month.  That way we could sleep an hour later once a month.  Maybe during tax season it could go back an hour each week.

The hardest thing I do every day is to get up in the morning.  After that, the rest of the day is pretty easy.

  5. Last night I was sending an email and highlighted a sentence to underline it.  It burned a faint image into my monitor and it won't go away.  I now have a blue blur across my screen and no, it isn't on the outside of the screen, it won't wipe off.  Has anyone ever have this happen to them and is there any way to get rid of the blur?

  6. I had a sales tax audit here in Alabama years ago on a small grocery store.  They showed me a list of invoices where the client had purchased 3 or 4 times as much beer as he showed sales for.  The store closed shortly after that.  A year or two after that, two men from the criminal investigation division of the IRS came to my office and read me my rights and then started asking me questions about the former client.  Apparently the answers I gave satisfied them because I never heard from them again.

  7. I got my 1095-B from the VA covering the whole year about a week ago.  I haven't got the one from medicare yet but it will also be for the whole year.  Can I take double credit?  Will I get a refund?  Maybe I should just be thankful that I have coverage. A lot of people don't.

  8. It has gotten to where a lot if not most web sites including this forum uses light colored print which makes it very hard to read.  Or is it just my eyes getting dimmer?  Is there a purpose for this?  Is this a problem for the rest of you, or am I the only one?  Just wondering.

  9. "Why is Microsoft pushing it so hard and giving it away? "

Diabetic test meters are fairly cheap.  The test strips they use are not.  Maybe Microsoft has something up their sleeve that is going to cost us after we get hooked.  Windows 10 updates are now mandatory.  I wonder if they are pushing us toward the cloud and once we get there, they have got us and it will be expensive.  Just wondering.

  10. I have seen too many people die shortly after retiring.  God created us with the need to work and when we quit, we start breaking down.  I think it is so sad to go to the mall and see all the old people sitting on the benches with nothing to do.  They do not look happy.  I do have to admit that I have slowed down a lot.  The hardest thing I do everyday is get out of bed.  Once I have accomplished that, the rest of the day is a lot easier.

I tried Chaos Intellect and could not get it to work properly; it was obscenely slow, seized up, and re-downloaded the same messages dozens of times.  So I gave up on that and instead now use something called eM Client which is terrific.  Email, contacts, calendar, tasks, widgets -- integrates seamlessly with the gmail email service that comes with my web site.

Catherine, I downloaded eM Client and it works great.  Thank you so much.
