    My ATX

I have been going nutz since yesterday trying to figure out why I'm getting a Server Error (Runtime Error) message saying I have to change my web.config file when I try to go to MYATX with IE9. I tried it from my iphone last night & found I could get to the site. Tried using another browser (Safari -what's on my iphone) and got to it. But when I tried to go to the Community the message said it was down for 'maintenance.' Just tried again and got through. Aaack. I was scared to pieces they had shut it down again Anyway, here's hoping for the best and as long as I can find some way through I can breathe. Whew
  2. Thanks much for your input. Guess I'll bite the bullet and pay the extra as usual -it will probably be better than trying to use a new system anyway or probs w/converting & cking all the depr scheds, etc., etc. :read:
  3. Was the stock from ESOP? Check those rules for handling it. But....no such thing as 'hardship'. Nice try on her part. I am forever amazed at the things people come up with and expect us to waste time researching their wishful thinking. Or wasting too much time trying to explain why it just ain't so and get to listen to their tirades about taxes & gov.
  4. Not on the original question, but..... This is a hot topic in many states because they're losing huge revenues for on-line sales. I hope separate rules will be established for on-line sales and collection based on the seller's resident state, without regard to in-state or out-of-state use. On-line we are virtual visitors; if we were visiting in the state we'd pay the tax (you don't get to argue o/s use when you're physically there in another state) so why not consider 'virtually' there the same way? I know registration of individuals would be a problem, but at least those making a business out of internet sales could be tagged at some point -there are tons of them.
  5. Have been an ATXer for years and pretty satisfied with it, but I do fewer than 50 returns (mostly Sole Prop & free family ) and need to save $. Have read some of your posts about TRX and am still confused. Does anyone know WHICH software they're peddling right now? I looked at their demo and it didn't look bad, but I'm leary about moving from ATX without knowing more from someone who has some experience. From what I read from you all too, I don't want to contact them and risk getting deluged with sales calls. I use just the 1040 pkg and the W2/1099 pkg in ATX (and do a couple of 1120, -S & ptrship manually). According to their price list on the cards I've gotten, I'd save a few bucks plus some efile fees (don't have many -mostly the free family I end up doing-, but I think ATX is really petty to charge the extra for them and I still hold a grudge about them cutting off the forum right at a critical time...). Or is it just not worth the risk to save under a $100? Wish I'd jumped at the TRX offer back in the spring to get ATX from them. Thanks!
