  1. Importing a export copy worked twice for me on this problem.

Program crashed twice on 2 returns in a row and wouldn't let me go back in.

The crash occured as I was recreating the efile after making the export copy.

I always make an export copy while in the return after creating a successful efile.

What caused the crash was the dreaded paper check XXX problem/click on print. escape and recreate but now a crash.

I rebooted did the import and was fine.

Now I save, close the return, go back in and recreate.

I should have only let it happen once...

  2. I also roll over tomorrows clients the night before and last night when I was finished about 50 completed returns showed as incomplete.

I've been getting that a lot this year, maybe once each week. It never does them all just random through out the entire manager.

Kind of a pain but better than many network issues that some folks have...

  3. I had this happen twice over the weekend and once on Monday.

Somehow when we go to print an 1120S it corrupts the 4562. You can tell because it says invalad date and entry by the real property entry lines.

I had to print / page the 4562's and insert them after reopening the return.

It didn't matter if the 4562 print options said always or IRS required.

Luckily as Randall said the data flowed properly to other areas...

  4. Mine works from the add new forms, highlites and opens both the 4562 and fixed assets.

No "jump to" depreciation on schedule E so far.

Hope you don't have corrupt forms.

Does 4562 open in other returns? If not check out the 1st thread in software issues...

  5. All drop down menus seem to work properly now.

After the slow initial open after the update the program seems much better.

My completed returns are still marked complete!

Wish they would make some of the mouse targets such as closing a return or efile creation bigger.

    Old eyes or bad aim...

  6. A quick click on a folder icon on my desktop takes me to any recent tax year pdf files.

A different icon for each year.

Typing the first few letters of the last name takes me right there.

Scroll to whatever page you need.

It also helps when they call to ask how much they still owe you.

Much faster than opening the program and then their return or saving and opening their return.

  7. I had a reject that took a while to find the problem.

    I put a lower case d for a 401k on a W-2 when it calls for a capital D.

The reject said "d" was not a acceptable field entry or something.

I use all caps in the program but out of the program, not so much.

Hard to remember to switch back sometimes.

  8. I have the same problem. Dynamic is being generous as in the past years my mouse would random pick a company while I was double checking EIN's.

All my complete returns become uncomplete every time I close the program. Used to be only some of the time but now it's always.

Not much of an update except we can efile more forms now.

It appears that not many can really use the prgram.

I'd hate to have a network...

  9. The transfer just moved them. You will still have to do any adjustments necessary manually.

All you are doing is trick the software and save yourself some time.

Remember, it removes the 1040 form only. Your schedule E's, EIC's, etc are still in the return. Many will be need to be deleted as they don't work in a 1065.

  10. Roll over their individual return and add a 1065 form. The software prompts you if you want to replace the 1040 with the 1065. Answer yes.

Lots of incorrect forms to delete for a partnership return but if the asset transfer is what you want then here you go.

Just tested as I need one in the future and it worked great.

  11. The work around posted earlier that works for me is to un-select combined federal and state letters in the federal letter options menu, go to the state letter and select the option you wish, usually "will be e-filed" and then go back to the federal letter and select combined letter and it shows what you selected for the state.

Seems like the only way to select options in the state letter.

A pain but your letter is correct.
