Has anyone experienced this?
-
Client puts $50,000 in an LLC. At end of year they get K1 with charitable contribution $220,000(conservation easement.) Upon entering K1 in return they realize a tax savings of $111,760 since they are in .398 and .11 tax brackets. Just curious if anyone else has clients entering this types of partnerships.

What is everyones thoughts on these?
Referring to the syndicated ones not doing one on ones own land.

Can't connect to server is staring to pop up 3-4 times a return.
-
Why not aggregate the rentals?
-
Look at it as division of assets.

That is one reason I have not ever logged into that site.
On this note, so many users disregard the directions and suggestions of knowledgeable people. There are many things NOT PART OF ATX that have a direct effect on the operation of the software. They pick and choose what they do or ignore altogether the directions and suggestions, then complain when a problem arises.
Dedicated server system, 10 workstations and since 13.4.2 not a single event of "server retry" and we can have as many as 7-8 people working simultaneously.
I will try updating server this evening. We are transmitting from workstations today that are running 13.4.2.
-
Here is my issue. People on official site have stated since updating server to 13.4.2 the server connection issue has returned. I have all workstations updated and no issues at all.

if it is a roth who cares just let her do it and move on. i only amend for a pre tax contribution.
-
Just stick it on the 1099 interest tab and move on. I have never in my life seen so many people get caught up in little details. As long as its on the return as income who cares.

Who can perform a cost segregation study?
The IRS requires that a study be "performed by 'qualified' individuals or firms, such as those employing … personnel competent in design, construction, auditing, and estimating procedures relating to building construction." Our team approach will result in a study that maximizes the tax benefits of the study, while conforming to IRS regulations and appraisal guidelines of The Appraisal Foundation (USPAP) and by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).
All work is performed in-house by our specially trained cost segregation engineers, each with significant experience in performing these highly specialized analyses. We are well versed in the IRS requirements and use this knowledge as the framework for our projects. -
Just keep a list in files and insert # on k1 input. I have put info on 2106 and 0 out with reimbursements then put that # on k1.
-
It is best to do this at the time of purchase not years after building has been in service. If they have owned it 3 years wouldnt some of the depreciation on a 5 yr asset be lost.

Ok, then because other programs do not use as many system resources, you should not follow my advice.
Seems logical to question a solution because no other programs require it?
Just leave your systems on continuously all day and all night, it will make things much more productive.
For the record, system resources have been an issue since WIN 95 for users that use programs that require real computing power.

What Jack is trying to say is that ATX is a piece of shit and hogs resources because it is not designed properly and the only way to combat this is to restart ones system.

Will not install due to a newer version already being on computer

sorry...one return open in 2011, three open in 2013...2011 lacked that feature.
I thought you knew a trick
-
Just for kicks (and to convice myself that my new PC was worth the money), I opened ATX 2011, 2012, and 2013 and then opened 2 returns in each.....No problems.
How did you get 11 to open multiple returns?
-
No.
Property transactions (Mainly only the personal residence) is non-taxable.
The kids and Child support are non-taxable.
A lot less alimony is being approved...
So much of the divorce legal expenses are non-deductible.
Most lawyers will give you a breakdown of their clients invoices to help you out.

Any luck or progress with ATX fixing the server connection issue?
-
I've got 3 open now and routinely have 2 open. Plus sometimes I have TaxWorks open at the same time.... but I have 16GB or RAM on a Win8.1 beast of a machine.
How big of returns are we talking? I had 3 open earlier 2 having 10 forms the other having 30+.
-
I have a top of the line system and am unable to get more than one return at a time. Always greeted with the system resources pop-up. Frustrated as I could really use this feature. Last year, I would go over to the server at least to open a return if someone called, but with the new install process, can't do that this year.
I really hope they finally support 64-bit next year....
I think it will cost them too much to do but would help almost all problems.

Every once in a while I can get 2 returns to open but mostly I get the systems resource box pop up. Now on 3 returns it never opens. I check the memory and its pushing 1.3 million so I close the popup box and memory drops back to 7-800,000. Am I using way more memory than I am supposed to be using?Yes, and yes.

Anyone have any luck opening 2 returns consistently? Anyone got 3 to open?

another preparer in the office was working on a return when all the entry cells on the schedule C turned lime green and forced the software to close.
