I efiled a federal and California tax returns; the federal was acknowledged but the state was not because someone had already efiled a CA return with that social security number; now that preparer who efiled that CA return also uses ATX. I have spoken with ATX and the California Efile center and no one seems to be able to help. I guess the best option for me would be to simply paper file that return and hope that the California Franchise Tax Board takes care of the issue. Has anyone had a similar issue? (By the way, California does not match ss# with names or checks the validity of a ss#)

I just noticed that ATX is now rolling over last year's tax prep fees into this year's sch A. It's neat.

My computer froze also and now everytime I try to get acknowledgments it says that there's another transmission in progress from the same computer. Hopefully, the problem will be solved once CCH system gets back up and running.

My CA returns still show in my system "validated..."; however California's web site shows them as accepted as of 1-24-08. CA returns seem to be moving now.

Just a note on this subject; I switched from Tax Wise to ATX because the CA program was usually available until the end of January; Based on this I guess we can expect CA to be "really" ready by the end of the month.

I have the same problem. For almost two weeks ATX has been sending me around from Cust service to data entry to sales. For now I have given up; hopefully we will get help soon.

I am also waiting for acknowledgments since Tuesday.

Has anyone else been able to register a second EFIN. I am using Max, which comes with a 3 user license; however, for a week a have been trying to register a second EFIN without success. Customer service sent me to Sales, Sales sent me to Data Entry and now Data Entry sent me back to Customer Service (By the way, I already faxed them the request in writing with copy of the IRS letter). Thanks

You are not the only one; I am still waiting acknowledgment for CA returns from Tuesday.

It may be the W-2's EIN. Did you check it?

ATX shows CA efile released as of today; however, I cannot create a CA efile; the system says that the CA efile info form is not approved for efile? Is it just my computer or someone else has the same problem? Thanks J R Sandoval, EA

I was told by ATX customer service yesterday that this year only one EFIN was allowed for every Max license; I spoke to their data entry dept and they were not sure; I contacted their sales dept and they have not answered back. Has anyone has been able to register more than one EFIN this year with the typical 3-user Max license? Thanks J R Sandoval, EA
