    At one time, the tax preparer community suggested the IRS should allow an option for tax professionals to receive payments via their client’s refunds. The IRS has announced that it will not be pursuing this concept.

  2. If you have not passed the Enrolled Agent exams yet, you should do it now before the next cycle. There will be a big change on your assigned number. Currently the P stands for "Provisional". That will be true until you pass the exams. After you pass the exams, the P will stand for "Permanent".

    Not so.

    PTIN stands for Preparer Tax Identification Number.

    There is no relationship between the enrolled agent number and the PTIN number.
