  1. I have a client with 24 W2G's all from the same place. Someone please tell me that I can just add them all up and make one entry, please! Thanks, Cynthia
  2. I have a client that worked in the States and received a W-2 with the employers Canadian address. When I try to Efile it it bounces back that the street and zip are not reconized. Anybody have any idea how I can work around this? Thanks, Cyn

    Illinois efile

As of today all of my Illinois returns are stuck in the IRC Cleared land too. Must be something with Illinois and not ATX.
  4. On one of my Iowa returns it says 8453 required, yet I filed with the fed 8879 and piggybacked the Iowa. What's up, no use calling tech support, they are worthless.
  5. OK, he has been my client for several years and now she is coming to me as well. Perhaps the best thing to do is have one or the other of them sign the 8332 each year so they can alternate who gets to take the child each year. Thanks
  6. Man and woman have a child and they were never married. There is not a custody order of any kind. They split the visitation 50/50 and each pay for 1/2 of the child care expenses. Child is covered by both of their health insurance plans. Father lives with parents so he can't take the EIC and Mom earns more $ than Dad. Should I file him as S with Dependent and 1/2 of child care and file her as HH, nondependent, EIC, & other 1/2 of child care? Thanks, Cynthia
  7. Thanks to all who have replied. I see that I have a lot more questions to ask my client. This is why I love this board so much!!! Cyn
  8. I have a client who donated an old house on his property to the local fire department for practise. They used it for 2 years and then he had the lot cleaned up and it is now just part of his homestead. He had the house appraised and documented for a value of $12, 000. Does this qualify as a charitable contribution and is the local fire department a qualified non for profit? Thanks, Cyn
  9. I have been with ATX for 8 years and this year I can't seem to find out when some of the features are up and running. Last week I spent almost an hour, with Tech help on the line, trying to figure out how to print my practice check to fax to River City Bank; only to find out that this was not available yet; news to me and tech support. My question is how is everybody finding out about this new stuff? I go onto ATX website daily and find nothing posted about what is ready to go, etc. I even called River City to find out that everything is going through ATX this year and they couldn't answer questions. Hope this is making sense, but it seems that since they shut down their forum last year I am having a hard time finding out what is going on. Thank goodness for this forum, it only took me 3 months to find you! Please help!
  10. I am having the same problem. However, I just created a practise return, closed it out and then reopened it and the names were still there. Strange. Cyn
  11. I am just curious, how did you know they were fudging on the returns? How did you turn them in? Cyn
