  1. ok, returns sent in yesterday and the day before are validated by ATX but not yet sent back as accepted by the IRS if they are accepted on todays date are they still timely filled? I have yet to get any acks last two days. I would look it up at ATX's web site but I always manage to get looked out. I hope they improve that procedure next year used to be we could access just by clicking on ATX on our software.
  2. She received a 1099-Misc from the newspaper with no income just $0's on all lines> However, she actually had $6392 in costs of the papers and $3094 in miles driven on route. For that amount of money she should have had something on the 1099 if it was taxable income I would think and then again her interest income of $1400 is taxable.
  3. I thought I read somewhere that a student who has a paper route does not have to claim the income or social security tax on the earnings. I can not now find where I read it and need someone to let me know if I did see it or not. Any one know? Thanks Kathy

    Rebate again

Yes we can e-file 1040A but only with SS and Wages or Self employment under $400 nothing else can be included with the Stimulus 1040A except you will have to over ride and put at least $1 into return so there is an amount on the AGI line of the return and we can put checking or savings info for a paperless refund. Right? Now my question is if these people have retirement income do we just not report it on this form if it is not taxable? Is this just an informational return and we will not be in trouble for not reporting on the 1040A Stimulus return all the income if it means no tax I guess if you put $1 in to make it e-fillable that is also false information but the IRS says to do this on the web site. Anyone out there e-filling leaving stuff off the return?
  5. Is any one leaving off retirement income on the 1040A stimulus return when it does not make a return filliable as the income is to low. Is the 1040A for stimulus just informational and therefore it is legal to not put some of the non taxed income such as retirement? Anyone out there filing with out this information imputed into the return? Kathy
  6. I am trying to put in stock sales for client but they don't jive especially the ones that have Exchange instead of Sale on them. Do they get reported differently? How do I figure out why what they say were the proceeds from sale are different then when I put in the group of individual sales. Any help would be appreciated. Kathy
  7. Parents bought a 4 bedroom home to rent out and have their dependent college student use also. It is four bedrooms and is rented out all year. Daughter comes home for summer. They rent to 3 students who each have bedroom and run of the house. Is it legal to depreciate and use 75% of the expenses as offsets to rental income? Do they have to add rental income from the daughter. Each person pays $250 a month. I am confused on this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kathy

  10. My client has a s corp accountant who told him his 1099-Misc income would not have to pay social security tax. Being I just do simple 1040 returns as a rule and I am not an accountant I was going to put the income on a schedule C with a Schedule SE if this income is not reported this way does the 1099-misc income go to line 7 as wages or to line 21 as other income? Anyone who can help, your imput will be appreciated. Thanks, Kathy
  11. Can these be sent out now? When I have one in the return 2441 it no longer says that it is not e-filable until Feb 11 has anyone sent out the 2441 and have had it accepted. Michigan having a blizzard already have had all morning appointments cancelled now to squeeze them in later :P
