If this form is not needed on a return does it get transmitted to the IRS if left in a return?

There were problems with the 8867 in ATX right from the start. So IRS did not reject, but held the returns with 8867? Now they decided it is too late to reject, too much work to hand check, and they are just going to release them all?

Wierder and wierder every day.

By the way it sounds it wasn't just an ATX issue. I saw a similar posting the other day from PETZ(?) Enterprises. Sounds like they had the same issue.

Oh what a fun tax season.......yea right!

This was posted yesterday in the 'Official' ATX Community:

We got word from the IRS that they will stop the process of communicating with the taxpayer when Form 8867 appears not complete and will start processing the refunds. The IRS started processing the 8867 inventory over the weekend and is starting to release refunds and expects to be complete by the end of this week.

This was from an industry call that we participated in this afternoon.

But here is a problem I have run into. I did complete the forms, put the approriate checkmarks, sometimes having to go back a second or third time to get them to stick. Now I open one return in particular that I know I answered the questions regarding self-employed and now nothing is marked. I didn't un mark them the program did. So now my clien'ts refund has been held up because the software failed to perform it's due dilligence!

Mine are still checked & they are still being held up. I wonder what gives?

The 4 returns with form 8863 I had pending went through & were accepted this afternoon.

Now if the IRS would issue refunds for the 1st week returns that would be awesome!

I filed a few last evening (sunday) and they were all accepted.

I did too, but this started this afternoon.

In Return Manager, under support there is a link to install the Payroll program. You have to go to the ATX site and download the file and run it. It will do all payroll forms and the program is just like last year.

Is that something extra you have to pay for? If it's only a very few forms you file, I use efileforbusiness.com. Pretty simple to use.

I've done all my updates except 12.9 from within the program. I am grateful I have not had any of the major issues others have had. I pray this continues to be the case (that i have no major problems).

I installed the 12.9 & it fixed the problem with the payer manager & the drop down on the dependents field.

I updated this morning from within the program, but there was no 12.9 update. It just updated 7 forms.

Yup! Same here! Payer Manager is in shambles!

Very few of mine have received theirs. I guess that's why I keep getting called. Oh well!

You can right click on your mouse on the form & it will show the version number at the bottom.

I tried to update just a few minutes ago from within the program, but only forms were updated. I tried again & it says no new updates. Does this mean I will need to try from the web? My Program Version is: 12.4.116.3

Eli, I was nervous about that too, and chose to download and save from the website rather than from inside the program. Went very quickly, and then clicked 'run' when prompted. All went smoothly, although opening the program was slow as it processed the update, and I was on pins & needles.

So after all was said & done, is it safer to update from within the program or off of the website? Or does it matter? My program has been working good enough & I'm afraid to try the update.
