  1. Wendy,

In Ohio all municipal income tax returns are basically the same. Form 37 which you refferred to is a R.I.T.A. form. RITA is a for profit company which administers many city taxes in Ohio.

1st to do would be to determine if a city tax return needs to be filed-ask your client, they should know.

2nd: ATX has many of the city forms in the program. Go to Ohio / local and look for the city.

3rd: If not in the program, call the city tax dept and have them mail you/ client the form.

  2. First off: I'd like to say I'm very happy to have re-found this site. I haven't been here in a year or 2 because I lost the address. Second: I'm also very happy to reconize many of the "ol' timers" are still here (of this earth!)

I also work from a home office and would like to back-up an indiviual tax return or two to restore to my home office computer from a USB flash drive and have been having no luck. What's the easiest & best way to do it?

    Terry G.

  3. I've become brain-dead. I've got a fairly simple 1041. Pg 1 line 2a total ordinary dividends=5,125; line 4 capital gain (loss)= -3,000.

The question: Should the -3,000 from the Sch D (1041) be on the K-1 ? If so, where?

    Thank you.

I've gone through decades of tax seasons, but I feel this has been the hardess one yet.

  4. "HELP needed E-filing W-2s using ATX" I had posted this yesterday (1/17) and received 2 responses: 1 from Terry D and 1 from r........(lost his name)

I went to see if there was more help today (1/18) and my post is missing. Where did it go?

I still need help. I spent 4-5 hours on the phone with ATX tech support yesterday-no help.

I spent an hour trying to call SSA (I forgot it was a holiday) I tried calling SSA today but can't get to talk with anyone. My phone calls are disconnected. I'm starting to develope a complex.

Any and all help would be very aopppreciated.

  5. Can W-2s be E-filed using ATX Max ???? I've spent 4-5 hours today on the phone with ATX support regarding "Can W-2s be E-filed using ATX Max ????" and the support person (who was really nice and tried to be helpful told me he and everyone he asked did not know and that I needed to talk with the people at SSA-they are not answering their phones-I was disconnected 8 times.

Does anyone here e-file W-2s using ATX and if so how?

  6. Randell,

It's the yearly payroll renewals $$$ that really irks me, even when nothing changes with the payroll taxes. And most if not all of my small business clients do not need all of the whistles & bells that QB's pushess for upgrade $$$.

So is it correct, that with Peachtree you do not need to upgrade the payroll module yearly? With QB's it shuts down-you are forced into renewing the payroll module.

  7. FYI: The HELPS Retirees Act allows a yearly distribution of up to $ 3,000 pretax from a governmental defined-benefit pension plan to retired public safety officers for use toward health care insurance and/or long-term care premiums.

  8. I’m losing my memory.

My question: An Ohio business is set-up as a LLC and elects to be taxed as an 1120S.

The legal work has not been done to make it an Ohio Corp (Inc.). Can the LLC pay W-2 wages to it’s owner-members even though it’s not a Corp?

  9. How I customized the “Billing Customized Master Form”

It’s far from perfect, but at least now it will show both the FROM: address and the TO: address in my double windowed envelopes.

Open the “Billing Customized Master Form”.

    Go to the “Invoice”.

Place your cursor on the numbered row column until the cursor shows the drag arrows.

Drag the space down until you get it where you need to.

    Save “Billing Customized Master Form”.

    Test it.

Customizing the Master Form has always been a major PIA for me.

Thank you to all of you who helped me.

  10. Roy, Thank you for the response.

I know how to find the "Billing Customized Master Form".

When I print ATX Invoices: They print:

    FROM: (me)

    x

    TO: (client)

There is not enough space between the "FROM:" to the "TO:" to be viewed in a double windowed mailing envelope.

I need to know how to space (what to do) to the "Billing Customized Master Form" to get the invoice to print:

    FROM:

    x

    x

    x

    x

    TO:

  11. I've spent the last 2 hours trying to customize the "Billing Master

Form". My ATX has been down for the past 3 hours-I've not been able to

    access the knowledge base.

All I'm trying to do is put more space between the "From:" and the "To"

address on the invoice so that both addresses show through window

    envelopes.

    Anyone have an easy solution?

    Thanks.
