  1. How do you handle if you receive a summon when you have not done anything wrong. Two partners are fighting and one partner's lawyer sent me a summon accusing me of being in collusion with the other partner to cheat his client when have not done anything of this sort. do I have to go out and hire a lawyer or can I respond myself as Pro Se. Thanks for your help. Naveen mohan
  2. It was $ 1,124.00 plus 8% sales tax. Even though our sales tax is 7%. The problem is that my zip code divide two counties. One 8% sales tax county and mine 7% sales tax county. I tried to tell them that I live in 7% sales tax county but sales rep said ATX system goes by zip code and my zip code is showing 8% sales tax so that is what I have to pay. . .
  3. I tried asking for the sales rep mentioned here but my call was automatically routed to the assigned sales person and my sales rep said that all promotions ended on 10/31/2013. When I pressed the issue that I have been a faithful client since 2002, they offered me either 10% discount or deferred payment but not the both and that point it was basically take it or leave it type of situation..

I do not have any open tax matter and If it refers to any of my client he did not leave a client name. I have not yet called him back. what should I do? Naveen Mohan
  6. It is my understanding that this ATX Community page is "unofficial" community chat board. Is there an official ATX chat board also out there?. If so, is that worth joining and if so how do I join that. The reason I am asking is I am wondering if will I gain any more tax knowledge/ATX software knowledge by joining the official board also. thanks for your help. Naveen Mohan

  8. I no longer have an assigned sales rep. The one I had last year has left the company. I sent an email to ATX sales department telling them that I belong to this group here and many member here have renewed their ATX Max for $ 995.00 plus deferred billing and I wanted the same offer given to me since I have been a faithful ATX Max user since 2003. No body in ATX even bother to acknowledge my email. I am wondering if I mishandled this matter. Naveen Mohan

  11. the objective of the client was to pass the property to his son whiel the client was still alive and this is his only son. The lawyer who handled the transaction has simply transferred the deed from S corporation to the son (son is not a shareholder). Does that mean client has to pick up the distribution equal to FMV- Basis. This is lot of tax client will be looking at. since taxable year is not over yet, is there any other option that will not generate tax. Should he ask the lawyer to reverse the transaction? Thanks everybody for your help. naveen mohan
