How do your young clients do a signature?  You get one signature and sign that.  Could be printing (but it had better be unique!).

Does anyone remember how to see what version a form is?

I'm doing the opposite; getting rid of my biz clients and just doing personal.  I've only enough clients to work very part time and one of my more complicated returns decided to go with someone in town.  Actually the partner that just inherited a bunch of money and rental properties decided to go elsewhere.  I was dealing with the partner that used to make all the money & had the complicated return.  We had a long conversation & I told him not to worry; I was trying to retire and doing so by attrition.  This season I'm only working a few hours a day.

I've been getting back only one or two signature forms this year.  Just got an AZ-8879 but no federal or CA.  A few days ago got NY & PA but no federal.

My panels are on my 'extra' building.  Holds my hubby's game stuff, tv & stereos.  I look at it like if the panels were on land next to the house.  The panels are for my 'main home'.

I'm glad I'm winding down. 

I've had a lot less of forgetting all the dividend pages since I've had my portal and more clients are getting their 1099s in PDF form.  They just upload the PDF and voila! I've got it all.

I haven't had issues filing with the 1116 as long as I check the election 'tp elects not to file form 1116'.  But when I have to file the 1116, that's when the issues are popping up.

I put it under 'other' but it rejected again.

Ugh, I have one that keeps rejecting too!  I've attached Sch. B and it still rejects.

Client filed 1045 last year in March.  He's been antsy for the refund.  Anyways, he found on the IRS website last month that they were processing 1045s received in June 2023.

He just asked if he should resend it, with a note on it that it was the second filing.  Anyone's thoughts? 

You only need to file a CA extension if you owe.  Otherwise it runs off the federal.

And if there was withholding, you should file if there is a refund, or if you want the statute to begin running.

My efiling issue is that when I hit 'efile' I get a message saying "efile is not available for any of the forms in this return".  Anyone else get that? Probably not.  I've had this issue since last year Q2.

But if anyone has, I need to know how to fix it!

I know there is a simple fix to the 'no fixed assets' issue (went into FA and nothing is there), but I can't find the ATX chatboard on the support site.  Anyone know the fix?

Second issue is that I can't efile my 941s.  Message comes up that there is a form that cannot be efiled.  Tried the 940 too but got a different message and thought that maybe, just maybe, efile hasn't opened yet.

Had the payroll issue last year too, after the 941 was revised. 

Very weird.

I went to the CSTC Summer Symposium, so I got 32 hours there.  And I'm going to Brass Tax Sacramento tax update.  40 hours, whoo hoo!

I always have issues getting into ATX.  and then have issues installing because something doesn't set up correctly in my computer.  Ugh.

I get a ton of spam/phone calls/texts regarding how I 'haven't claimed the ERC credit that I'm entitled to'!  Um, my only employee is my husband, my business did NOT suffer from the pandemic and I don't qualify. 

Like Dennis, anyone that didn't hear of the credit and didn't apply for it in real time...

I got two of these emails just a couple of days ago. One had the exact wording, but it wasn’t from Doris. 

I went to the CA Society of Tax Consultants Summer Symposium.  It’s also getting kind of pricey, especially since I’m no longer a member. But it’s good live CPE. It alternates between Vegas & Reno, so next year it’s only a short drive to Reno. Last year the Symposium clashed with a trip I had already booked, so I was doing VERY expensive CPE in Vegas. And a last minute 4 hours online. 

I have been semi-retired since I moved to Nevada. I’ve been reading again (I sense a thread here) and have been doing at least 15 minutes before sleep, but usually about an hour. I also bought a travel trailer last year and am getting it ready for Burning Man.  I took it on 2 short trips plus the burn last year and want to do so again this year. I play games, watch movies & series on TV. I’d like to do a lot more traveling.  I’m going to visit Ireland next year with my sister.
