  1. Been waiting for the 20th to rollover my own 1040 return. Has a k-1 from the partership we have from ADG Financial but thought I would try it this morning with 12.3. Granted it's my first rollover and just a 1040. It took less than 60 sec. Things going well here.

  2. Just got this from New York State:

Form 1099-G, Statement for Recipients of State Income Tax Refunds from the

New York State Department of Taxation and Finance is now available

electronically. We will no longer mail Form 1099-G statements to taxpayers

beginning this filing season. By supplying this information

electronically, we will save approximately $700,000.

Please use this link to get your Form 1099-G information:

  3. Well did my first return and ready to e-file but think I will

wait to hear if anyone else has a problem e-filing first.

Have 3 more appointment this afternoon. I think this is going

to be a great season. I really like the new auto update feature.

  4. I had this happen once. Not your status but in getting thru. I went directly to the ATX website to save time. Checked the e-file Center and then the E-file Status for my client. Did you do that? It showed accepted never got my database corrected until a later date.

  5. Was this 1099 or W-2 income? If it's W-2 income might not be as serious as you think. They most likely owe him for those back years. I'm working 2 of thses cases right now. Put in a Form 4506-T and find out all the income that the IRS has on file and work the case. If it's 1099's then I'm surprised that they haven't put lien's and attached his wages long ago. I would suggest just working the current years and see how that goes. If indeed it is 1099 income he will need a lawyer. August

  6. The support center has posted this:

High volume April 14-15 is generating "server errors"

    04/14/2008

We are experiencing very high efile volume today, 14th, and expect that to continue tomorrow too of course. We are seeing more "server errors" today than usual, and there is no action needed. Simply keep trying to send your efiles. This high efile volume translates into higher call volume to the CS Dept and our wait times are much longer than usual. We have added staff, increased hours, shortened lunches, and extended our closing time to 11pm tonight.

  7. Client's spouse is usuing a hyphenated last name. When I create the efile, the error message says the name is too long and I must truncate it. The message gave me the priority steps to truncate, first using only initial for first name. I did so and it allows me to create the efile. I haven't transmitted the return yet.

Any one have this before? Any problems with the SSN/Name matchup?

I have done this before. Go ahead and e-file your return. August

  8. I just tried to restore from a backup and go through the steps as required, I get to the point of clicking start - and then I get a pop up telling me how to restore from a backup!!! Which are the steps I just went through!!! What? Didn't ATX check this part of the program!!! Anyone else have this trouble? What good is a backup if the program won't restore it?

I think you have to restore from the start menu. Pick atx2007 and the restore.
