PREPARERS SIGNATURE

Last year I used a scripted signature for my signing. I changed to master form to showthis. However when I roll either with or with out it comes up Block Style printed. If i tell it to add preparer info it puts it in block mode. Anyone know how to fix this so that it shows up scripted on all returns? Thanks to all. :)

You need to modify the master form as follows:

1. Unprotect the master 1040 form.

2. On the signature line, change the font to Script, Bold, Italic, 16pt.

3. Save the modified master.

On all returns that you haven't rolled over yet, the signature will show up in script when you roll them over.

But how do you unprotect the master 1040 form?

Actually, it's already unprotected when you open it to modify the master. Just:

1. Click the Forms tab

2. Click on Modify Masters

3. Select the 1040 and open it. (It will already be unprotected, you don't have to do anything - just make your changes)

I would like to email a pdf file of a return to a tax client and would like to print the signature on Form 8879. Would I use these same steps? I did try it and it appears to be floating above the line and then looks like the top bit of the signature is cut off. Is there an adjustment for this?

Is it necessary for a preparer signature or could it just be signed once it is sent back to the office?
