Ranger
Can somebody tell me how many days we have to file rejected e-files after October 15th? I have a new client with dependent issues.
jklcpa
If the return was efiled prior to the deadline, I believe you have 5 days to fix the errors and resubmit or 10 days to paper file.
Mr. Pencil
If the return was efiled prior to the deadline, I believe you have 5 days to fix the errors and resubmit or 10 days to paper file. That's to be timely filed. Many taxpayers would have little or no penalty for filing late.
Jack from Ohio
If he is due a refund, 3 years from April 15, 2013 to preserve his refund. No penalties for IRS.The MEF system will close down sometime in November. If he has dependent issues, not likely you will have those resolved in time to e-file. Paper file is the right way to go.
