You’re uninsured for only 1 or 2 consecutive months of the year 1. Under shared responsibility, do I have check off the two months? If yes, I am getting a 16 penalty in this case. 2. Forgot shared responsibility and go to individual exemptions and check "B" short coverage gap? No penalty in this case. Your thoughts? easytax Posted February 6, 2015 Report Share Posted February 6, 2015 Part III with "B" for exemption and (from 8965 inst. pg.12) For each coverage exemption claimed in column a, check the appropriate box or boxes for the months for which the particular exemption applies.
