Janitor Bob Posted April 18, 2008 Report Share Posted April 18, 2008 On 04/15 I electronically filed an extension (4868) for a client that owed. She wanted to pay electronically so I entered her account information and chose a date of 04/20/2008 for the payment. Extension is Rejected with Error Code 1040US397....Invalid Date I assume this is because I entered 04/20 instead of 04/15? If so, ...Then OK it was a stupid mistake...but now what? Can I change the payment date and re-transmit? If so, what do I change the date to...04/15..even though it is currently 04/17? kcjenkins Posted April 18, 2008 Report Share Posted April 18, 2008 I believe you can change the date, and retransmit, and it may go OK. I'd sure try that first.
