Client brought in info, and I was delighted to see that she had details about vehicles listed BY VEHICLE. I mean the works: mileage, gasoline, repairs, insurance, tags, everything. I almost cried.

Then, I look at the next page, and there it is: the other expenses for the business are $16,000 "business expenses."

I call her to ask what's in there. "You know, supplies, parts, equipment fuel, maintenance, cell phone, and some malicious expenses."

Oh, well.

Sounds almost like the client I had a few years back. He brought in a copy of his QuickBooks where he had entered transactions for the year. The P & L had two lines: income and expense.

Haha. Yeah, and I have a couple who don't even bother with the "income" part!

They're like, "uh, oh yeah, that..."

I like the "malicious" expense category - will have to remember that.

With some clients, it's the "mysterious" expense category.

Yeah, I spit a little coffee on the keyboard when she said that.

I actually had a guy wondering why he didn't get "that there unearned income credit." He did have a loss, but c'mon.
