StevenL
Client moved out of his home in July 2009 to take a job out of state. The house was put up for sale immediately and while it was up for sale, he rented it for the last 3 months of the year. The house sold in January 2010. Is there away for him to report the income and expense of the rental without having to report it on Schedule E? since it is for just a short period of time. Thanks for any help you can offer. RoyDaleOne
As an activity not entered into for profit. I think line 21 and Schedule A.

StevenL
Line 21 and Schedule A was my thought too. Thanks for confirming this for me.
