  1. A new pirate joins Captain Hook's ship, and he begins asking questions: Pirate: Captain Hook, will ye tell me how ye got yer pegleg, hook, and eye patch? Captain: Well matey, we was havin a fierce fight and a cannonball took me leg off clean at the knee. The good doctor fixed me up with this here pegleg and that's how it's been ever since. Pirate: Captain, that explains the pegleg but will ye tell me how ye got yer hook and lost yer eye? Captain: Well matey, we was havin a fierce fight and a swordsman took me hand off clean at the wrist. The good doctor fixed me up with this here hook and that's how it's been ever since. Pirate: Captain, that explains the pegleg and the hook, but how did ye lose yer eye? Captain: Well matey, that came from a mosquito bite on my left eyebrow. Pirate: Captain, do ye mean there's mosquitos out there what can pierce yer eye? Captain: No matey, I had the misfortune of the mosquito bitin my eyebrow the day after I got me hook! ARRGH!

  2. Patience, friends. You know there are always problems early, but given the massive FAIL in DC this year, you have to assume there are going to be issues for a while. I know it's a pain living through the early software issues, but you also know they WILL be fixed. And honestly, I would not be rolling over returns yet, period. Except for a TEST return or two. It's going to be changed several times before they get all the code changes into the software, because you know that there are so many ways that one seemingly simple change can end up affecting multiple other forms. We need to accept that reality and give the software folks time to get those entire 157 pages incorporated.

  3. I fired a long-time PITA client in November over a minor payroll issue. It's always been a pretty ample fee; but never been worth the aggravation and hours spent. I am starting out this tax year with peace of mind that I don't have to deal with her. I went online yesterday because I still have access to her accounts and see that both her 4th Quarter payroll and November sales tax were filed late. "Good". I am not a spiteful person in any sense of the word, but she always knew better than I did and any little thing that went wrong was my fault. Now she will have to find a new whipping post, but I am out of it., and will not reconsider.

  4. Time to up his fee AGAIN!!! If he agrees, you ease your aggravation. If he decides to go to someone else, you still ease your aggravation.

  5. I have lost all sympathy for those that spend money they "think" they are going to get. I have a written disclaimer instructing clients not to spend any refund until it is in their posession. It does not work for those that choose not to be responsible. I am not the keeper of the irresponsible. It has started already this year for me too. Rant Over!! :spaz:
