  1. Look a little more! You'll find Schedule D. And thankfully it hasn't been "enhanced" like the 1040 version.
  2. Randall, the program provides an organization system that would be take a lot of time to duplicate manually. It also encrypts the documents on your hard drive. I didn't like that at first, but I know it's in my best interest. Current problems aside, I like the program a lot. Perhaps you can stay with your system during tax season and re-evaluate PaplerPlus when things are slower. And maybe ATX will have worked out all of the bugs by then.
  3. I updated to v11.1.2 when it was offered last week. That was a huge mistake. The update documentation says the program loads faster. Yes, it does that. However, the time to print probably doubled. It has taken up to 3 minutes to print some moderately-sized tax returns. In addition, with the update, the program no longer selects client name nor the tax return folder for the current year; it's a manual operation. I'm disgusted. My work around for now is to use the PDF button and manually import the file into Paperless Plus. Sadly, that's a real time-saver.
  4. This isn't the best time to be thinking about this, but I'm considering some major IT changes after tax season. We're running on a peer-to-peer Windows XP & 7 system at the moment. I'm looking at a server powered by Windows Server 2008. Has anyone had experience with a Server 2008/ATX combination and was it positive? I submitted an inquiry to ATX about this and received a boilerplate reply that was totally useless.
  5. The one I transmitted yesterday was accepted today. Good luck on yours.
  6. I added the 1040 EdExp form, saved, deleted 1040 EdExp form and retransmitted. The return was accepted this time. Go figure!

Julie, I can't think of any reason it would be treated differently than anything else.
  8. I'll be e-filing one as soon as I get the 8879 back. I'll post any problems I have.
  9. "The student's name and SSN for Form 8863 must match the data from the IRS Master file." That sounds reasonable, except there is no 8863 in the return. The return has three children, all 7 or under. One is a newborn, so I was particularly careful about her SSN. These kids are all above average, but not college material yet. I've checked all the SSNs against their cards; no mismatches. Any ideas?
  10. I've submitted a dozen or so 1099s that are just sitting out there waiting to be acknowledged for over a week. The ones that finally made it though had outdated forms by that time and were rejected. So I've submitted them again and I'm waiting...... for them to be outdated and rejected again (along with the first batch that will, no doubt, be rejected). Is anyone else experiencing this?
  11. Has anyone tried to submit 1099s by e-file? I submitted a batch on the 14th that is *still* in the "Transmitted to EFC" status. In the interim, an 1120S has been filed and accepted.
