Just an FYI for everyone. I went to my mailbox yesterday and got an envelope from TRX. My initial thought was they had responded to my request for a refund, but I should have know better from these @#%holes. The idiots sent me a renewal notice. Just goes to show you how stupid Doug thinks we all are after going through this mess. I tried to be nice in requesting the refund, but getting this renewal in the mail just re-enforces my belief they are stupid & liars and makes me more determined to get a refund. More BS statements in the renewal from Doug and they have updated their refund & renewal polices. Looks like more of the same for next year if you renew.

I did it just for fun because of the NC comment, but when I opened a simple NC return.....guess what.....No NC. Went to the Utilities menu and download states and NC is still black. What a surprise......NOT!!! Abb. I have done some in the past where they had used to have a farm and mortgage with Farm Credit. I have put it on Line 21 and never had a problem.

No more reseller stuff for me either. I'm extremely happy with Taxslayer Pro. After the first return, I've able to breeze through simple returns in about 15 minutes. My Taxslayer Pro rep told me the TaxExact basically went belly up because it was a bad program. Found the comment below whne googling TaxExact software reviews: "TaxExact have apparently closed their doors. Their website is no longer available, and they are unreachable as of February 2009." website: http://www.taxexact.com/ You can really see the similarities. Guess that's where our money is now.

Can you believe it......I just a reply from their noreply email address. See below what I got and sent back: Seriously!!!! Are you kidding me??? Do you think that I'm still using your software with most of the states and business returns not available? Why would I e-file a return with no state? Give me a break!!! If you actually believe this a working program, then you are insane. This program stinks and you can't even resolve to most simplest of errors like on the 1009-K where the Payee's name & address is locked into the Filer's section. This is a defective program and along with many others I will never be doing business with TRX again. Really bad business practices and terrible customer service....just look at your facebook page. First return transmitted and accepted. Easy as can be!!! It reminds me of the old Nelco e-filing system. Network showing returns so eerything is back normal and running smoothly. WHOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

I am also up and running on TaxSlayer Pro. I purchased yesterday about 11am and by the time I got home from my regular job they already had the data converted for me to download. Worked some on my return to test things and manuvered around pretty good. Just got finished networking my desktop & laptop and updated both. Had to call tech support for what I missing on mapping the drive and the person answered with no wait and put me in the right direction. I have 10 here to do and will pick an easy one to prepare and transmit. I'll post how it goes. If anyone else hasn't switched, then give TaxSlayer a try. All states & business forms are ready to go. Byron Allen was my sales rep and he even called this morning to see if everything was working. Excellent customer service so far. They are giving discounts but depending on bank products and/or when you fully pay up front can make a difference. His contact information is below. Give him my name and he'll help you out. I'm just downloading it for the laughs now..... They still didn't fix the 1099-K. Still show's the Payee as the Filer. If you are still with TRX, then I suggest you start looking for a provider for next year because they probably won't be around. They'll take your renewal and you'll have no software next year. Could call the renamed group...."Anything But TRX"

I bought TaxSlayer this morning and paid $845 from Byron Allen in sales for NC & VA. He was the person that sent me an email about 2 weeks ago. Sounds like I could hae gotten another $20. I did ask for a discount and Byron said they were very busy with sales because of TRX, ATX, and TaxWorks. I definitely would be asking for the discount Terry D. I'm sure they may honor something since you hae bought in the last few days.

I made the jump this morning to TaxSlayer Pro. The sales rep, Byron Allen, said if I could get the conversion data to them they would have me working this evening by the time I open up at 6pm. I looked at the demo last night and it's not going to be hard to learn. I hope that most of the data converts (which it looks like it will). It will take me about 12 clients to get the money back, but aleady have 8 in the last 2 days waiting to start so by this time next week the software should be paid for. So long TRX!!!! If I hear about people getting refunds (which I highly doubt at this point) then I'll look to go to the effort. Otherwise, I'm just going to get to work and make it up by taking on 4 or 5 more easy clients.

Terry D, Did all your data convert or is there still some things you'll have to re-enter?

21 updates and still not a usable program. My download was very slow and I still found bugs. Simple example: 1099-K puts the Payee's information in the Filer's section. I downloaded the demo for TaxSlayer Pro tonight and will test it. I'm thinking about a web-based product and a few came up on a Google search. Anybody have any experiences to share about web-based software? Everything else is going to the cloud so why not this.

Just ckecked email and got an email from TRX about 2 hours ago. Please check www.irs.gov for the latest news. 1. 4562 Depreciation 2. 8863 Tuition File Center Errors: If you are getting an error from the e-file center please make sure you are on release .20 this release has updated known e-file issues and will allow most previous rejected returns to be completed. Once you have upgraded to release 20 you will need to generate new MEF e-file for each return and send the returns back to the IRS. Sending Returns to the filing center issues: If you are getting an error when trying to send a return to the filing center please go to utilities on the top bar and select registration details and verify registration information. Once that is complete and successful close the program and reopen the program and at that point you will be able to send those returns to the filing center.

Got nowhere with PayPal. Will probably just chalk it up to the cost of doing business with dishonest people. If large group gets something together then I'll put my name on the list.
