Hopefully ATX is monitoring this forum because you sure can't get through on the support line, or should I say "non-support" line.

Client had her refund direct deposited last year. This year she is requesting a paper check as she no longer has a checking account.

When creating the Federal e-file, errors regarding her checking account (must have routing number....yada yada) appear. I cannot create a Federal e-file return. I had no problem with the state return.

Problem: When creating the e-file or running Error Check, multiple errors display saying the bank account entered in the federal return does not match the bank info entered on the 1040 E-file Info even though a paper check option has been selected on the 1040 E-file Info.

Temporary Solution: First, verify no bank account or routing numbers have been entered. If none are present, have customer open the return. Click the Print icon. Next, click the Cancel button. Nothing needs to actually be printed. Recreate the efile.

Permanent Solution: the “12.8” release, currently scheduled for release on 2/15 will have a programmatic fix for this.

Issue: A print setting has gotten “stuck” which incorrectly flags the errors. Running the Print clears the error.

I use pdf factory to save copies. It shows in the filing copy and works fine. It creates a much smaller file than ATX's pdf printer.

Have you posted the above info on the "official" board? There are some IT guys over there that are helping several people with network issues.

I had that exact issue after the 12.4 update, it seemed to correct itself with the 12.5 update.

It is not included in gross wages, so there would be no difference in gross vs taxable wages, hence only difference is 401k.

Probably a dumb question, but is your 2011 program/forms up to date? That's the only thing I can think of. Sorry.

Is there any way to verify where the info that you send/efile really goes? I mean if we don't even know who owns it and its new how can you know they are not just there to steal personal info. It might be a stupid question, but I could not send off personal info of clients and not really know for sure who is on the receiving end.

I have win 7, 64 bit,, Intel Core i-3 2.33 GHz, 8 mb ram - everything moves along pretty quick, Not as fast as ATX 2011, but faster with each update.

I see my backups there for various dates and times.

Installed from disk approx jan 10th. Program would not open. Updated 12.1, would not open. Updated 12.2 and 12.3, still would not open. Updated 12.4, program would open, but with the first key pressed it shut down. Updated 12.5, program has been working fine. Printing speedy, opening OK, rolling over ok....

If this is a household employee under the magical #, you need to refund FICA, med, fed.... It is not reportable.

Actually the 2011 program is available for download (with the codes) on the ATX download site. At least it is for me.

1-28-13 1:26pm: We published 12.5 update this morning to the automatic download and solution center sites.

We are experiencing internet bandwith challenges and in order to better research the resolution, we are pulling the update from the automatic download.

This means that when you click the 'update' button inside the software, you will continue to receive forms updates but not the program update.

You could still go to the Solution Center download page and pick up 12.5 manually, but the download speed is very slow right now. You would have a better download experience if you wait until this is resolved. We expect to have this resolved later today.

If you are trying to retreive the update at the exact time we pull it from the site, you will receive a time-out or other error. In that case, wait for the update to be reposted later today and you can continue working in your software until then.

I updated from the website before the servers got so busy. I can rollover so far without any problem and pretty quick. Printing seems quicker, but lags when loading the forms to print. Depreciation seems accurate.I can start a new return without the program crashing.

I did re-boot the computer after the update was installed.

So far so good for me.

No, the setup file is the original program. If you look at "ATX 2012 updates" you will find the 12.5 update. There has been lots of talk on the other board about network installations failing, etc. There are several computer techs talking over there about network issues. You might want to check there. I run a standalone computer so I can't help with the network stuff.

Downloading directly from website has been slow but steady, no error messages or timeouts.

It is located on the download page. It installed for me like last years' ATX. I didn't have any problems with it.

It looks like we are going to be able to deliver the update between 10 and 11 in the morning.

1. While you can run the update from either the server or workstation, we recommend that you update from inside the server. In an ideal world it would be while all the workstations were shut down.

2. The workstations should automatically sense an update on the server either as the server applies it, or when the workstation is rebooted. Either way netsetup.exe is not required to be run unless you are going from 12.0 to 12.5.
