  1. Because she has the power to cut you off, and in a tax season of turmoil she has helped some, thereby being "a lifeline" somewhat. I try to stay on the good side of CCH as who know how worse my life would be to do the opposite.
  2. Yes, I had to let Bobby have the last word otherwise it would go on forever until they banned one or both of us. I did see where you asked about their carefully worded refund policy and got no answer. I'm sure lawyers have bound and gagged that whole staff. I thank God and CCH for letting me use TaxWise as I could not get ATX to E-file nor an answer on how to fix it. I am limping along on TaxWise but really don't like it. I keep hoping ATX will fix itself prior to April 15 and I could go back to using it for some of my clients. I'm really scared ATX will die. No matter if there is a conversion process it doesn't convert all and you have to do a lot of do over work. For example, Schedule C other expenses. Under ATX I had some good explained expense titles. Converting ATX to Taxwise, which has VERY short fields, truncated a lot of stuff so I had to revamp descriptions. I dread converting to a new system...even returning to ATX seems problematic.
  3. They asked me to tone down the political stuff ....(I guess with Bobby1NJ who starts the political stuff). Supposedly, others felt it got in the way of their frustration with ATX software and the ability to complain about it. Of course, I learned long ago no answers come on that board. I asked and asked for a fix to my E-filing problem but NO response from anyone. So I doubt any answers come from yelling: "Kimmie, this doesn't work" or "Kimmie, help my that thing doesn't work." Usually the reply is "I'll tell the developers, or we are working on it" Anyway I agreed to tone it down. When I visit that board now all I see is actor David Hedison from the Vincent Price picture "The Fly" at the very end his little head on the body of a fly stuck in a spiders web, with the spider about to eat him, yelling in his high pitched voice: HELP ME !!! HELP MEEEEEEE !! (KIMMEE) HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!
  4. Just had a thought....maybe we are getting nasty because tomorrow you will no longer be able to get your ATX refund. It will be interesting if all the "ATX is CRAP" threads disappear very soon.
  5. OK I had a hard time working this and my answers came up looking like JKLCPA was talking. Sorry
  6. on the other board. They never used to do that. Sure their software was the butt of the joke but it was infinitely nicer and not dirty than say posts saying ATX Update 12.10 is a pile of CRAP !!! I suppose any moderator could delete anything using the "off topic" excuse. Well one things for sure, no matter how bad my jokes may have been (and they were good), ATX ain't getting a refund from me !!!!
  7. First of all, I feel for their pain. I feel for MY pain too. But they are YELLING at ATX TO FIX IT NOW----THIS MINUTE---and you know they ain't getting any answers. I don't see how ATX will survive from this backlash. ATX was nice enough to give me TaxWise so I'm limping along on that. But I really find it cumbersome and confusing and time consuming. I love ATX and want it back. I can limp along with ATX too except it will not E-file. I can not get a solution to fix my problem. TaxWise will E-file. If it wasn't for the stupid IRS mandate to E-file, I would do most of it on paper via ATX and just do the clients who want e-file on Tax Wise. I keep hoping ATX will fix itself including my E-file problem with some magical update. I really want my ATX back.
  8. Note attached says: TO ATX, GEORGIA THIS IS FOR THE EVIL ATX 2012 HAS CAUSED. FROM GOD, HEAVEN Apparently, God got His Georgian zip codes mixed up.
  9. Unfortunately, this joke is slowing becoming a reality !! ATX 2012 Update 12.8 not working, here on 2/15/13
  10. I deleted the forms involved and re update forms thru the program. That helped opening certain returns, printing them and creating efiles. But I still can't send efiles !! If I am forced to do all paper returns, assuming the clients go along with it, am I still in trouble with the IRS ?? IRS could contact me after tax season and say why are 99 % of your clients doing PAPER and not efiling ??
  11. I have stand alone WP SP3. The return was closed after creating efile (they say open file is a problem) The return is not marked Complete (they say thats a problem) It goes thru the steps of contacting ATX EFC, verifying everything ok and gets to sending client efiles, sits there a short while and says "An error prevented this efile from being transmitted" (paraphasing here). Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution to fix this crap ?? Calling ATX is not happening...it hangs up.
  12. Secret Vatican sources say crappy ATX 2012 may have been the problem. Being unable to exorcise the CCH crash devil out of its programming, apparently he threw his laptop computer and ATX disc out a third story window screaming "I'm mad as heck and I'm not going to take it any more !!" Perhaps a Pontifical refund is in order to avoid the State of Georgia being, well...Smoted !
  13. I called Taxwise, got Bill, the salesman and asked for the free swap. he said he had not heard about it. Would have my ATX rep call me. Does anybody know about this ??
  14. who sit around playing with their light sabers, instead of fixing the stinking software. No wonder the Death Star is only partially constructed and still orbiting in the Beta System. It really is sad that when it comes to speed, ATX can't get it up.... ... or last more than 4 hours. This, of course, is just my opinion, in case you're an alleged lawyer.
  15. You can't drive a bus when the ATX tires are totally out of alignment and about to fall off !!
  16. When I asked some people where are the ATX forms in XP they told me the Drill down route in the first post of this thread. AS I said paragraph 4, If you don't see the APPLICATION DATA file folder, then your computer is set to hide certain files. Why ATX made these files "hidden" is beyond me. TAX MAN 60601 told me a procedure on another post on here with I repeated paraphrasing my own words to un-hide your XP computer files. Its the second post on this thread.
  17. OK most of my forms opened, only certain ones did not. I reasoned that some were corrupted in the download. My computer is slow in updating because I don't have the recommended internet connections and was read the riot act over this issue by ATX tech via a customer service person. So I needed a surgical method not a shotgun method. Some posts have said that ATX recommended deleting the whole ASSETS folder which would take with it and subfolders like the MASTERS folder. If the MASTERS folder is deleted gone would be it's subfolders like ORIGINAL, LATEST and PATCHES. This shotgun approach might work but obviously you will need to Upload/Update the whole library of forms not just one or two forms. Not only would this take time on my computer, it might also corrupt forms that were already working like form 1040 or schedule B. If you have a fast internet connection , you might try the shotgun approach.
  18. UNHIDE hidden ATX file folders: I clicked on MY COMPUTER, went to TOOLS at top, clicked on folder option, went to second tab called VIEW, found line where it said SHOW HIDDEN FILES & FOLDERS and clicked on that radio button, then APPLY, then OK.
  19. After Tax Man 60601 gave me the secret on how to unhide my hidden files on my XP SP3 computer, I tried the following AND hoped it would not screw up ATX2012 anymore than it is. I was prepared to uninstall ATX2012, reinstall original cd, update to 12.5 and update ALL those forms again...that's how desperate I've become. I AM NOT A COMPUTER GEEK and MAKE NO WARRANTIES TO YOU. YOU ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK I could not open Schedules A & EIC, Forms 2106,2106EZ & 8812. I decided to try and find my computers library of forms, delete the bad or corrupted forms, and then run the update process. To backup what I was going to do, I created a folder on my deskstop labeled "Screwed up ATX". Within that box I created 5 new folders labeled "Original", "Latest" "Patch 1" "Patch 2" and "Patch 8". Sizing down and putting this desktop folder to the right side, I drilled down to the ATX file folders (on the left half of my desktop) that corresponded to my 5 folders, went into each folder, found ATX's corrupted files and moved them to my "Screwed up ATX' desktop folder by dragging them across the desktop. This removed them from the ATX library (and changed the status of the form from "installed" to "available now") Running update caused ATX to reinstall them and they opened. Drilling down procedure: clicked on a series of folders: My computer, then C: drive, then documents & settings, then all users, then APPLICATION DATA (if you don't see this one, you will have to unhide your files--see Tax Man 60601 posting), then CCH Small firm services, then ATX2012, then Assets, then 2012, then Masters..... Within the Masters folder are three folders " original", "latest". "patches". Within Patches are more folders P1 contains Schedule A and EIC. P2 had "2000" forms like 2106, 2106EZ, P8 has the 8000 series i.e. Form 8812. In the original folder I found one file for Schedule A (1040_A.2012.1.53.SFSFMZ)......in the LATEST folder I found 2 files for Schedule A ---a 1.54 revision and a 1.55 revision. In the Patches 1 folder I found one file for Schedule A.......Making sure I removed ALL Schedule A files. The other forms had similar treatment....the LATEST Folder may contain a few files relating to your form. After the update, All these files were back in the respective ATX folders and the forms opened. Then I deleted the corrupt versions that were sitting in MY "screwed up Atx' desktop file. I hope this helps someone out there. Note: I did repeat this procedure on Form 8812 twice as the update still did not open after the first try.
  20. Thank you so much, Mr Tax Man 60601 !!! Before your advice, I could not find the pathway that many have said are there. ATX had hidden these files. Before your advice all I could see was: C:documents and settingsall users......there was NO Application data file folder. Afterwards taking the hidden button off, the trail continued: all users.......application dataCCH small firm servicesATX2012Assets2012Masters I think inside the Master folder are the forms in 3 separate folders: Original, Revised and Patches. I will have to do more research on this. THANKS AGAIN
  21. No I can't find it or pull it up either. I think its hidden. I have standalone Win XP SP3. Is there a way on XP to unhide all these hidden files ?? Search function was no help. Maybe if you tell me how to unhide all the files on my XP, these CCH files will come to light. Thank you.
  22. here on October 16, 2013, everthing finally seems to work.
