  1. I forgot to mention, it took her three weeks to get me this information
  2. I think she has a spreadsheet program but wont use it.
  3. My thinking is it's a whole a hell lot better than what she gives me.
  4. She came up with the numbers the same way. I made her go through all the checks and deposits and put them into categories and I went over everything with her. I had to file a extension. This is the third year now. The TP knows she is tonally incompetent but they have been friends for many years. And I think "with benefits" I suggested quickbooks, be he doesn't think he can get her to use it. It's hard to believe someone with gross receipts of over a Million $ only made $22,000 and that's before depreciation. That alone should have clued her in. And how the heck am I supposed to prepare a return with that information
  5. I have a schedule C client this is the tax information his bookkeeper send me. So I'm all done, but in the end I'm showing a very significant loss, like 80,000. So I am going to go over this with ___ in the morning, figure out what his estimate for "cash to day laborers" and such, then I'll be able to send it over. (Wasn't a good year) started out with. 124,370 Deposits + 1,197000 Total checks. - 1,299400 Ending balance. 22,051 He'll be lucky to break even for the year I pointed out to her that Money ____ takes out of the business checking is NOT a business expenses, nor is personal expenses that are written on the business account. And that is why she should not just add all deposits and subtract all withdraws to get his profit.
  6. Last week I had a return with a balance due for DE. The program would not take the withdrawal date, it kept saying indicating to enter todays date or a future date. A future date was entered. So computer share with Dan, no fix. Had to wait for a patch the was updated to day. Well the error message was gone but the program still created a Payment Voucher and the bank info. was NOT on the return. Call to Dan and another computer share and transmitting the return for Dan to look at, then more computer share. Then Dan says eveything is good to go and we transmit the return. BUT THE BANK INFO IS STILL NOT ON THE RETURN AND THERE IS STILL A PAYMENT VOUCHER. So I have no reason to believe things were fixed. So next week I'll make an embarrassing phone call to the client and ask them to check if their payment was deducted from their bank account. HOW WANTS TO BET IT WASN'T!!!!!!
  7. Maybe I got a bad disk this year or something went wrong with the installation. I just had a client email me because he got a check in the mail and not direct deposit. I wanted to file the return till he could get his bank info to me and I remember entering it. But maybe my memory is shot
  8. This is a long time TP not a new one, so even if I didn't save, she should still be there.. Right? The W-2 info should be gone but not her she was already in the system
  9. I opened a TP entered he W-2 info, closed the return came back went to client manager, manage my returns and she is not listed ANYWHERE. Did a search by name and ss and nothing.
  10. The return was successfully efiled. I unchecked the deceased box and indicated the mom lived with the TP for 11 months.
  11. In NJ it's always more for school employees. I always get the same line for deductions.
  12. Ondesks for 2014 all states unlimited efillng with a early purchase discount was $499
  13. I'm going to hold off filling till Monday when I can try calling the efile help desk. I tried on Friday but there was a 60 minute wait.
  14. The problem is I have no confidence in my software any more. And I looked high and low and cannot find anything that indicates the return has to be paper filed.
  15. To clarify, I never got to efile the return, the onedesk software would not let me efile because I indicated a dependent was deceased. I unchecked the deceased box and will efile the return latter today when the client comes in to pick up the return. I'll let you know if it goes through
  16. This is a ONEDESK issue, the return never got efiled. When I finished the return and hit "complete" that is when I got a error message for onedesk software.
  17. Yes NOT the return of the deceased. Under the dependent in onedesk there are a bunch of boxes that you can check, such claim exemption, student, and on is deceased, so I checked it, then a place to enter the date of death popped up, I entered the date of death. The when I finished the return I got a message that the return had to be papered filed due to a deceased dependent. I just unchecked the recessed box and I'll efile the return. I knew it had to be a onedesk issue. I have been having a lot of issues this year. Thanks
  18. I looked high and low and I cannot find anything anywhere that state I have to paper file in this case. efile help desk 30-60 minute wait time
  19. Ok, I he a client who had a dependent parent who died in November. My program (oneDesk) is saying she is required to paper file because of the death of a dependent. This is a first for me and I want to be sure. I've had spouses that have died but not a dependent. Thanks
  20. what concerns me a bit is I haven't received the usual order next year now and save x% phone calls that I have gotten in the past by this time of year. Could it be they wont be there next year.
  21. Open the client, and on the top bar look for DM Docs yellow folder. That is how you upload. If it actually gets transmitted you guess is as good as mine. I used it last year to send copies of stock trades, don't know if it went through or not. Good Luck. PS I have another issue with onedesk. For DE return with a balance due it will not accept a direct debit date, the error message says the date is old and I need to enter a future date and it is not recording the bank information on the return, so I will not file it. and I am not calling the customer and telling him "I know I told you I set up direct debit but now you have to send a check" Called Dan did a computer share, he could fix it, he's call back on Friday.
