  2. I am sure there are many members, visitors and ghosts on this board who have served in the armed forces of this country at some time or another. I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone of you who has in any way served this country for your willingness to uphold our way of life. THANK YOU!

  9. Do you know the difference between bird flu and swine flu? Bird flu requires tweet-ment, and swine flu only needs oinkment!

  11. I am sorry that I missed your birthday, Catherine. Glad to hear it was a good day!
  12. IMO, limiting the losses should require passage of a new law by Congress. That is not to say they can't arrange for that, but it should take some time. I found the idea that they are going to use the information they have to identify more hobby losses more interesting. If they just automatically send letters requiring anyone who hasn't shown a profit in at least two of the last five years requiring them to prove they are not a hobby, they may increase revenue from this area. It would be interesting to see the results of such a program.

  14. I also wonder what version of quickbooks they were using. Part of the planned obsolescence of QB is that after 3 years it quits figuring the payroll taxes and you have to upgrade to a newer version to be able to continue doing payroll unless you are willing (and able) to calculate the taxes manually. Was someone trying to save some money on QB by doing taxes themselves and just messed up the SS and medicare calculation one month?
