  1. trying to e-file the last of the farms before March 2nd 11 pm and between
"not responding" ATX and the "retry error" - and now "retry error" during transmitting!

I do not know if they will be finished in hours!!

    Any suggestions?

  2. since I can remember (20) year! I have offered to check their last 3 or 4 - state years at no charge.. Great marketing tool - sometimes a pit tush  - takes time but has gained invaluable loyalty finding thousands of $$'s - college credits, meals, office in the home, rental income and expenses, etc. Word of mouth.

if owe - make them aware, if refund - over $40 - amend usually and I do charge a small fee even

  3. no - the laser printer was less and did only 21 ppm @ $399

hp officejet PRO X576dw does scan, fax, duplex and Reliable claimed 70 ppm but hp says only 42 ppm  - on sale for $599 (original $799)

Then they quoted me a laserjet of 60 ppm for $2100!!

thru eo Johnson we were trying out a 25 ppm with scan, fax, etc laser jet and it has problems all the time, very complicated and they want over $4,000 over 4 years... or up front. - Same price!

Hence we saw the X57 and I am ordering that to try.

The Brother $100 and $200 laser jets - the toner kills us, the Dell laserjets last only a year or so.

We run about 30 cases of paper duplex

have tried zip drives and CD;s for clients but most old fashioned for that so paper it is.

  4. oh - I like that about the staple holes - I will look as we staple client copies in the middle!

the $2664 is $2,000 federal and 1/3 for state - $664 due for early withdrawal.

Thank you all for your input!

Every year we copied a little more, for 2013 - we are trying to copy most everything and for 2014 - we are going to scanning. - where do I save it? To another hard drive or to the cloud that got hacked?

And I forgot about my deductible so I will just pay the interest myself - with a check to the US treasury - good idea! and the WI dept of Revenue and hope that first time penalty abatement works.

I will with integrity - good point - try to make her as happy a possible - but because of her badmouthing I would like to keep her as it is harder to diss someone who still prepares your tax returns :)

  5. so in 2012, client took out $20,000 from IRA - no exception, no tax either..

somehow it got missed - was in their packet when they brought it back with the letter - so I am wondering if it was in there originally and plus wouldn't you wonder why your refund was so large with a huge distribution and don't you look at your taxes a teeny bit?

So I offered her to take care of penalty and work off part of the interest over a number of years..

she has a business and there were some numbers way low from 11 and 13 and I suggested she do some digging.

Well her friends said she would get audited if she amended and since my insurance won't pay the amount due I should just pay this.

With the Sch A and C and 8880 with lower income they will probably owe only the penalty on fed and state of $2664 and interest of $400?

So I said also keep good track of this year and it can come out of 2014 taxes and we can do them real early Jan and get money back to pay or the IRS will take part of it  - usually get back about $4-$5,000 as hubby withholds a lot. She says well I do not know after this if I will be back - I said we all make mistakes.

Why would I pay her interest? Do I just let it go to the E&O?

  6. so landlord has 5 rentals

is he in a trade or business?

does he need to issue 1099's for services?

he sells a house on land contract - is this as an individual or trade or business? Does he need to report the interest on a 1099 int to them?

how many makes it a trade?

None unless he is a broker?

    Thx

  7. New ;law for Innocent spouse in last 2 years - can apply and file from here on out to be not a part of the payment.. Form 8857

It probably will not help the back years but forward it does.

Am in the process of one right now since I found out about this from a WI seminar with Scioli and Associates out of Saginaw MI - excellent firm for this and OIC...
