  1. Has anyone recieved their Cir 230 and Marketing Packet from the IRS yet. I'm just wondering if they have started sending out because haven't recieved and can't remember when I got mine exactly last year? THX!!
  2. It can be several weeks before the house is ready to be occupied. My feeling is that he qualifies for the $6500 new construction credit.; maybe. Hence, "benefit and burden..." [
  3. If u dont mind my asking, where do you work? Hosp or psych? seems strange how children today want to be sooo much older than what they are and what's worse is they get away with it more than we should ever let them... :(
  4. There is something in the law that refers to "benefit and burden" of the home being purchased. Apparently, the TP was not allowed to move into the home til after Nov. 6th thus receiving no benefit nor burden of this residence prior to so with all being said in respect to contracts, dates and deadlines, TP should qualify for the credit.... That's my take on it. Please correct if I'm wrong... :scratch_head:
  5. I would very much appreciate the help. I have a 250G hard drive with 197G available. i tried to go through the steps of setting up the partitions on the hard drive but dont know how much to give to each OS. So please if you can..... HELP!!!! :)
  6. I wish ATX would make a Mac OS version. Just bought new MacBook Pro and cant use with program unless I split hardrive and add Windows. If I do that, might as well buy new computer for price of Windows Operating system.... :(
  7. your not old just more seasoned! lol! ;)

  8. I agree with old jack! There is a 3 yr. non ownership of a principal residence clause. the taxpayer is disquailfied from the credit if they owned a home and it was their principal residence. now if they were renting home #1 or #2 prior to purchase of #3 then they would. oh yeah and its been extended to july 2010. am i correct on this jack?
  9. Taxbilly I truly enjoyed that!!! I'm 38yrs 11mos 10days old. Guess thats the mechanics behind "pushing" 40!!! LOL
  10. Just went over this in cpe training with the IRS today. Just like previously stated by taxbilly... download form 911 and fax to your local tax advocacy office. From what was told to me in class today they will promptly get to it and get the process started to relinquish the levy. Good Luck!!
  11. Well HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!!!!!!
  12. Hey Guys and Gals! For those who remember me from this past season and those new for this tax season, just wanted to say hello and i'm just getting out of my first all day session of tax class for cpe credits. Boy! we are going to have some fun this year! So much new stuff to cover and my head is already hurting! lol! Well hope all is good with everyone and looking forward to out in depth chats this season! And to all of you that just recently had one... PS Mine is January 1st!! (Hint! Hint!)
  13. @Julie Thx! It just seems like the craziest returns come now at crunch time and all gets confusing b/c ur trying to rush things through... There's light at the end of the tunnel...just hope its not a train!! :spaz:
  14. @MDCPA Thanks for the help! Got one more question if you dont mind...I put the vehicle info she uses in her business on the schedule c but the asset entry tab came up so i entered it there also. Now when I do my check scan an info warning comes up sayin i have it listed in both sch c and asset entry. What have I done wrong if anything and just to make matters more complicated it has switched her from owing 3800 to getting a refund of 800+ with EIC and 8812 credits and she made close to threshold amt with her biz.(32,241).. Just seemed funny. The only thing i see is that the vehicle expense is high and i think its double dipping since the double entry on sch c and asset entry.... u think???
  15. only place i knew to put was under sch A in medical expense. Is there separate form for SE insurance prem? Where does that go. Sorry 1st time with client who pays all their own ins and SE. (Now my smiley or frowny in this case was intentional!) lol!
  16. Got a client who pays her own health insurance because she's paid with a 1099 MISC for company she works for. I read the Form 8885 front page and it seems like she qualifies for the credit, but then it says attach forms listed on page 4 or credit will be disallowed, but I dont see a page 4. Has anyone done one of these before? What do i do if even allowed to take credit?
  17. I have a client who is a nursing asst. paid by check every month by a Medical Services company. Her income is shown on Form 1099 MISC, but not listed in box 7 (nonemployee compensation) it is listed in box 6 (medical and healthcare pmts).... Could this be an error or correct being that the rules state if a company is paying a physician or other supplier or provider of medical or healthcare services over 600.00 use block 6. The amount was well over 600.00. (54,000 to be exact) Just doesnt seem right...feels like should be in block 7 since amt so high...... Does anybody have insight on this type of payment???? :scratch_head:
  18. I dont know if i missed the begining of this convo, but i have recently filed a client who closed on Jan 31st 2009. I efiled the return with 5405 attached for the 7500. Then the new law came and she qualifies for the additional 500. I automatically assumed and told her that I would have to amend to get the additional credit amount for them. Apparently those who are filing post new law dont have the new 5405 that reflects the 8000 credit so they will have to do the same.....am i in the boat or still in the water???? LOL! By the way, she already recieved her $10,000+ refund!!! LUCKY GIRL!!!!
  19. not likely...one amount 20,000+ and other 8,000+
  20. I have a client who has two w2's from the same employer. There was no break in employment during the year. Can I just combine the amounts under one w2 in the system or must I separate them? Of course if i combine, the tax should be less than if separate right? All helpful replies will be greatly appreciated....
  21. Put some good insurance on it and let it mysteriously get totaled and collect a check, and pay the taxes! LOL! JUST KIDDING YOU GUYS!! But i couldnt resist injecting some humor cuz it sounds like that TP gonna need some by Apr 15th! By the way what series is it? I have a 7 series and love it!! Well worth keeping for 15k Lol!
  22. Need some clarification on just how you qualify for this credit... IRS states: "Property must be put in place before Dec. 31, 2007 and b/w Jan. 1,2009 and Dec. 31, 2009 and any expenses in 2008 not covered." WTF kind of since does that make? Why put that in the books for 2008 and cant be used unless you do in 2009 but had to be in house after 2007? Please clairfy so i can stop BEATING MY HEAD ON THE DESK!!!! Taxguy... PS: Reason concerned is that I have a client who just replaced all windows in house with energy efficients...
