Once Shut Down, Program will not Reopen Unless Computer is Restarted

I've run into an issue where once I close the ATX program, it ill not open again unless I restart my computer. I normally always keep ATX open. Occasionally, I inadvertently close the program. When I double click the ATX 2012 Icon to reopen it, I receive a message that the program is already running. It isn't. I check my Task Manager and it isn't listed as an open program. Not sure why this suddenly started to happen...not sure if it's program related or a Windows issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

ATX is running on a loan desktop. It's not on a network.

Closing the program through task manager adds to the corrupt files being created in backup.

The program runs a backup each time you close the program. You should close the program once an hour. Watch task manager like joanmcq said. Be patient.

Shutting down the computer causes the same destructive program shutdown.

We are doing all these things. We learned the hard way. Do not reboot your computer until after checking your task manager to see if the program has completely closed. We were doing "end task" but now believe that was contributing to corrupt backup files.

Only two more weeks. The program and data files are working like a house of cards. Take every precaution that you can. Just get to the finish line.
