the boss
How do you treat a single member LLC when the member is an LLC? Elect on 8832 C status?
OldJack
I don't see any reason to elect anything. The single member LLC entity is just ignored and reported with the other LLC entity which may be ignored depending upon its filing status. the boss
Ok, the both disregarded entities reported on Sch C?
Lion EA
SMLLC A has as it's only member SMLLC B whose only member is John Doe? Is that your situation? If so, then it's reported on John Doe's Form 1040 Schedule C if a business (or maybe E or F, depending on the activity). In other words, if each of the LLCs is a disregarded entity, then you disregard them until you get back to a person or an entity that should file a tax return.
Randall
Watch for the state filing requirements. In KY, each SMLLC must file a return with an annual $175 fee.
