chadlonetree
If you use MAX then when you open a 1099 form a 1096 form will automatically open with it. This has all the information required in sending the copies to the IRS. If you don't, go to the IRS website and you can print 1099 and 1096 forms and instructions. GeneInAlabama
If they are employees, she needs to give them W-2s. 1099s are for independent contractors.

Julie
Check out www.filetaxes.com. I've used it a couple times when I needed to do one or two 1099s. Price is reasonable for that purpose, and they take care of the filing issues. Don in Upstate NY
... go to the IRS website and you can print 1099 and 1096 forms and instructions. But you cannot file those forms with the IRS because they are not the right color! The 1099-MISC and 1096 sent to the IRS must be RED. The 1099-MISC and 1096 sent to the IRS must be RED. Ture. Good call. I don't remember the last time I did anything but efile these forms. I thought I rememebed the red forms being on the IRS website??? I do know the IRS threatens a small fee if you send unscannable forms, but I have never known the fee to be enforced? Anyone been or seen a fine?
