ACA Coverage

A couple has moved into my area who both have federal government issued green cards. They own a few acres in the county on which he raises some livestock for personal use and she works in town as a floral designer. My question is whether they are covered by the requirements of the ACA. They are permanent residents but of course are not citizens. Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, they are required by the individual mandate to have health insurance.

After reading the relevant material I was unsure if that was indeed the case. They will qualify for an exemption so they will not owe a penalty. They likely don't know they qualify for insurance through the federal exchange.
