For example, does someone (partner/member) have to sign anything before I can e-file the request? Anything to keep them out of my office; I'd rather make a trip to the post office than have them come in. If this has already been discussed, I'm sorry, please forgive me. Thanks! Federal's don't need signatures if there is no payment being made. Just submitted one myself after talking to the client by phone. Catherine Thanks for the info, Catherine. That is good news! I had looked quickly at the tabs at the bottom and saw that I have to input some stuff and was about to just forget about it. RitaB Posted April 9, 2008 Author Report Share Posted April 9, 2008 Ok, I just now looked at the "e-file info" tab on a 4868, and in red letters ATX says, "This page must be included for any Form 4868 extension you wish to file electronically with the IRS." The form has a blank for date signed. Is ATX wrong up there in red? I have been creating and transmitting all afternoon without completing the e-file info tab stuff.
