Karen Lee
TP filed bankruptcy in 2001. Discharged in 2002. Truck not included but repo'd 2003. TP never received the 1099-C but IRS did for TY 2006 and received a CP 2000 June 2008. Shouldn't the 1099-C be issued for 2003? I know it doesn't have to make sense but could someone tell me why it doesn't make sense. Do I stand on the fact that the TP never received the 1099 C? Push the date issue? I really don't know what to do other than to tell the client to pay it. Karen
