grandmabee
Client just called and said the check that was paid with the extension bounced. they didn't transfer the money fast enough. (sure waited long enough to tell me) Should I just have them get their stuff ready and file the return with the payment or try to send the payment again. They still have a few items to gather and are slow about it. Won't the P & I still be the same based on when we pay the payment?
JohnH
They will probably get a bill with an NSF penalty & maybe some interest added (but I'm not really sure about the interest). I think they will get credit for the payment whenever good funds are remitted. Haven't seen one like this in a long time, but I'm pretty sure the bounced check won't invalidate the extension, since technically no payment is even required for the extension to be valid.
