Gail in Virginia Posted April 7, 2010 Report Share Posted April 7, 2010 I think that if he reports the FMV of the apples on his farm return as income (which is probably where any expenses of growing them such as fertilizer and pesticides should be), then he can deduct the FMV on his schedule A.
