  1. I have had this happen a couple of times this year, and had the same thing a few times with 2012. Who knows? Maybe the Raven just does not like their name!!
  2. This is not exactly the same, but over the years I have had a number of farmers quit and have an auction to sell off all their equipment. This can be pages and pages of auctioner sales sheets. I simply ad up all equipment sales, go to prior years depreciation schedules and pick up AD and cost and put one line on 4797 as "Equipment sold". I've never had one questioned, but have all the detail if it ever happens. Gerald
  3. Margaret, they started this last year. I don't know if it is Ky or ATX that requires this, but it is a real PITA. Last year, I had to paper file many Kentucky returns because I could not get pdf to work when there were multiple 4562's. Somewhere in ATX, there are instructions for creating and attaching pdf's that I printed out last year and still follow. It works much better this year and I have been able to e-file all Ky returns. HOWEVER, ATX still has one thing wrong. Ky instructions specifically state that if 4562 is not required for Federal, then it is NOT required for Ky. ATX still requires it. I have pointed this out to them numereous times to no avail. Gerald
  4. I'm not sure I can help with this, but I do a lot of beef farmers, and they all have sales tickets from the stockyards or cattle brokers(pinhookers to you old timers) and I make sure they bring them and go over them with the client and have them identify raised vs purchased. A lot of times you can identify the over 2 year animals by weight which is always on the tickets,at least in this area. Someone has the sales tickets and you need to get your hands on them.
  5. This is opinion only, not from resarch, but I would put on line 21. The reason I would is that the client was never in the horse breeding business, and , in fact, inherited the right to receive the awards, and did nothing to " earn" the awards.
  6. I am sure Jack can explain this better than I can, but as I understand, ATX 2013 has two components. It actually installs a server on your computer, and the second component is the actual program itself. I am guessing this was done in an attempt to solve last years problems with workstations and a server. In reading the other board, it is a wide spread problem, made worse by 13.3. I am still working smoothly on 13.2, but understand that 13.3 will be required for e-filing sometime next week. _______________________________________________-- Not really a newbie, posted for many years under another board name.
