the new method is really a mess

heads up.. SSA BOS has a new log in.. I know it is only April but I expected problems logging in using the new system and sure enough, I cannot log in. has anyone had success logging in using the new method, which they are telling me they recommend using the id.me method.  

Been a ProSeries customer since the days of when Intuit bought out Parsons Personal Tax Edge.  I did use ATX for a few years for entitiy returns when it was explained to me the ATX program was basically built upon excel sheets.  Maybe it is differnet now.  I moved all returns over to ProSeries and haven't looked back. 

Schedule IT BUS exempts certain business income and certain other income. 

I hope this goes off without a hitch but I am expecting hitches. 

Margaret. just a heads up on school returns since I do a lot of them.  A few years ago or so if someone l ived in an Earned Income School District, their self employment income is taxed for school district tax.  At one time it was not but they changed that a while ago.  For Traditional School Districts self employmnet income is inded exempt from school tax. This starts on page 4 of the pdf that you linked. 

The business exclusion on the Ohio side is up to $ 250,000, not $ 25,000. 

already uploaded some 2022 W-2s to SSA site using Medlin software.. working well. 

Is anyone passing out 2023 MTGs?  I see ADP is but they want to meet and have me listen to their sales pitch.

I remember that when the program was a series of spreadsheets. Just thinking about those days makes me shudder.

Does anyone here efile W-2s through Medlin?  If so is it possible to have a conversation on the phone on the exact steps to complete the process? Thank you. 

I logged in today, October 19, 2021 and I was able to renew for 2022.

will the IRS be sending out letters on the amount received?  if so will there be a notice number on them?  I am starting to think about the letters i send to my clients with a reminder of what I need them to bring in.  I was going to include the EIP3 letter, whatever that is called and the advance child tax credit letter.. Is my logic correct on this?

ugh.. client got a bill from IRS for payment that did not go through.. i think it is 5% of the tax.. this seems really heavy handed.. has anyone had success getting this waived?

i just talked to the IRS.. they told me IRS "normally" only tries to run it through once.  I will wait a bit to see if they try again before making other plans.  I hope this is the right option. 

there was not enough in the account to cover client's taxes where I had come out of the account.. the payment did not go through.. will the IRS try and run it again or do we have to make alternate plans for payment?  thank you. 

I hope this is true.. did a search online.. a lot of requests by different groups and people I read.  

Trying to understand the new Retention credit updates and how this has turned simple 941's into much more involved, even with software.
