  1. Art, Call 855-880-1040 and dial extension 3331 and you will get Nick for Support, or you can dial 3690 for Jenni she will be able to show you anything as far as the Tax side. Thanks, Doug Hughes
  2. Hey guys thanks for your review. Mike you are right on, we have a gone a step above a conversion and created a proforma which will allow you to pull each client forward seemlessly. If you would like to add a State it is really simple as is the Business entities. I think you have been working Jenni please give her a call and she can show you how simple that is. However do keep in mind this is a DEMO (basically a 2011 Version) and the functionality is not all in a DEMO. J. Ron our 2106 form has the clergy it has the housing allowance etc. and if the Clergy gets a 1099 and elects not to be taxed the Sch. C. fully accomodates this. We have had a couple other ERO's that do several Clergy returns each year give us a thumbs up for the simplicity of completing a Clergy return with our software, so please let us know where you see it is not adequate for your clergy returns. Also on the w2 if you need to override an entry it is SO SIMPLE just right click in the field and click override, check it out you will love this feature. And as I was telling Mike this is a DEMO and you commented yourself all the issues will be addressed in the December 10th Release. Thanks again guys, Doug Hughes
  3. Update on TaxWorks (RedGear, H&R Block) I want to clear things up on whether TRX will have RedGear next year or not. Just as I have stated in the past we usually finish our contract with RedGear in November, however just last week RedGear sent me (TRX) the first draft of this years contract, but it will take a few weeks to get it completed just like it always does. Again I want to think you guys and girls on this community board for the feedback on our software and the ones who helped last year during tax season to add the features needed to address your needs. Doug Hughes
  4. Most everyone is emailing them directly to me at [email protected] also go ahead and spread the word for people to look at our software so they too can help us make this a great software. Thanks again, Doug Hughes
  5. Don, I own TRX Software, YonderWorks, TaxExact and TRX Telecom, just like if you into Baskin Robins you can get Dunkin Doughnuts as well and the same is true with Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. Yes I have been developing Income Tax Software for the past few years to solve the switching of software every other year for my customers. As you stated TRX Pro has been a rebrand of other software companies in the past, however now it is a rebrand of my own software and thus solving the problem of having to switch software on my customers every other year. You will also see other people that rebrand software in the income tax software industry rebrand my software as well, along with we are marketing TaxExact just as we market TRX Pro. As I stated above I also own and have developed YonderWorks which is a Income Tax Software as well but our Online version for tax professionals that prefer an online software. YonderWorks is also going to have an online consumer product as well for the people who think they can file their own taxes. We will be releasing YonderWorks to the public for the 2013 tax year in January 2014 once we have gone through another year of testing to ensure we have a rock solid product just as I did with TaxExact (TRX Pro) the past few years. As far as where each is located, my personal office is out of the 906 Dashiel St office but we have additional offices in Seattle & Germany. The reason for the EULA saying Tax Software Development, LLC. is simple this way if we rebrand our software for someone putting their name on it this part is already generic. Thanks and I hope this helps. Doug Hughes
  6. If you would like evaluate our current version of our software it is on our website at www.trxsoftware.com Thanks, Doug Hughes
  7. To Sure-Fire Taxes are you not the same person as Fail safe taxes that almost went to jail last year for texting illegally? It looks like you changed both your company name and your personal name, if I am not mistaken your legal name is Mathew Hamm. ALso this is the ATX community board and most of the people here use ATX which is owned by CCH which owns TaxWise so if anyone here wanted TaxWise they could buy it directly and not go through a middle man. TRX has always and will always take the high road and not bash our competitors because it simply makes the companies that bash others look really weak themselves, kind of like dirty politics or dirty campaigns that some politicians stoop to. TRX has not become the largest Service Bureau in the country and maintained that status for years by bashing others we have earned by the best pricing model in the industry, great service and listening to our members. Doug Hughes TRX Pro America's Largest Service Bureau TRX Software Development, Inc. 26 years in business IRS Authorized Software Developer & Transmitter Complete Software packages without gimmicks.
  8. Thanks for all the help to the many ATX community members that are helping make TRX Pro what you want. You guys have been so insightful with all the emails acknowledging we are listening to what you are telling us to do. The help creating the depreciation worksheet and the vehicle worksheets are great, keep the thoughts and ideas coming, because if we do not get them in this year we will by next year. Doug Hughes
  9. I spoke to my Developers this morning and this is what they said: Hello Doug, In general, our software does not work on Linux because it uses features which are available in native windows OS. So Linux is not supported. As one of comment mentioned that our software could work using “Wine” in Linux environment but from our past effort we know it did not work. We are setting up lab to test whether using Wine our software work, and incase does not what would be effort to make it work. We will let you know as soon as we have some updates
  10. I am not sure if it will or not I will check with the developers and see. I do know however that we will be releasing YonderWorks for Beta this year that will run on a Mac or PC. It is HTML 5 and a online version of our Tax Software. Doug Hughes
  11. JJStephens, If you will be willing to look at our TRX 1040 software which I think you find it is suitable for your needs. We are making major changes to it and your help on the clergy would be most appreciated. This way you can help us make it where it flows as you desire and by doing so it will help anyone that uses our product doing clergy returns. Thanks Doug Hughes
  12. RFASSETT I did post this under TRX and under General Chat which I thought would be a great place to ask for help. I again apologise to you if my post came across as a underhanded marketing thing that was not my intentions, to be quit honest if I could still get ATX at a good price and sell it to you for less I would be doing so, it is a great product. I am truly looking for insight on finishing my software and if you choose not to participate I understand, but maybe there are some out there that would like to help. Thanks Doug Hughes
  13. Thank guys for the insight on where you feel we are lacking with our customers. Jack from Ohio if you can elaborate more, I would love to be able to improve my company to the level you disserve, that is is exactly why I ask for your input. You are also most certainly correct sponsoring Nascar and knowing how to treat people are 2 different things. As far as this being a ATX Community Board I to understand this, however if you click on forums you will see the TRX tab as well where we have multiple customers here. If I offended any of you by posting a post reaching out for your advice I truly apologise, but I am 100% sincere when asking for your help since we are just a small company we do not have the budgets of a CCH or RedGear/H&R Block. Again my sincere thanks for your comments good or bad. Doug Hughes
  14. Gail I agree he needs to go back to his attorney, however he can rebut this through IRS in writing and this may be the best way since the mortgage company would have to prove to the IRS it is valid. Doug Hughes
  15. It appears most of you guys are looking forward to our own tax software as a TRX Member. We filed 30,000 plus returns through TaxExact this year without any major hicups and our file center never missed a beat, so it was better than a successful first production season. We are now updating to the new calculations for this coming filing season, and along with the new calc. changes we are creating easier ways of depreciating assets and making sure as much information carries from worksheets to schedules as can to prevent dual and sometimes triple entry of the data by the tax preparer. I recently sent a email to all our TRX Members asking what you like this year and what we needed to make improvments on and I have received very good response. I would like to reach out to you guys to form an advisory group to help me make the software what you want it to be. If you are interested in this please contact me by email at [email protected] so I can get you with Jeanie our Head of our Tax Law divison. The only thing I can say about RedGear at this time is I got an email last week stateing they are going 100% MeF next year and their whole program is changing with the look and feel so we just must wait and see. One other thing to keep in mind it appears that people using bank products was down industry wide this year by 25% so please be aware of my competitors raising their prices dramaticaly over the next 2 years. I would not be surprised to see minimum software prices now of $995.00 as high as $3000.00 over the next 2 years. But remember we will honor our price lock as long as you have renewed each year by May 1st. Thanks everyone for another great tax season at TRX. Sincerely, Doug Hughes President / CEO TRX Software Development, Inc.
