  1. I received an email a couple weeks ago in which I just sent a nasty reply today. Here is the email(I wasn't even a customer for 2013 season): Hi, I just wanted to let you know that TRX really appreciates your business and would love to have you back for the 2013 tax season. I also wanted to let you know that we are offering 100% Risk Free Renewal Policy! I would love for you to see all the improvements in the 2013 software by looking at the sneak peek on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV-ouyP-jQY It will walk you thru the 2013 software. It is approximately 10 minutes long. I look forward to hearing from you soon with your feedback! You can reach me at 855-880-1040 Ext 3254. Thanks, Elizabeth Elizabeth 906 Dashiel Street Murfreesboro,Tn 37129 Toll Free 855-880-1040 Ext 3254
  2. I will send to my credit card company as well since they are in process of dispute. I will also file claim.
  3. American Express is still working on mine, but since I paid the deposit in March 2012, I am not super optimistic. I am happy with Taxwise although it isn't as user friendly. I should have just stayed with ProSeries although it was getting expensive.....
  4. Terry, I am still working through the credit card company to get a refund for my deposit! If I still lived in Little Rock, AR - I would drive my ass to Murfreesboro and visit them in person! I hate a coward who won't answer the phone. I have held for over 2 hours trying to speak to customer support. What a way to conduct business.......
  5. Thanks for the advice. I am leary though because if I renew next year, the price will be $700 I believe. I found Intuit Online and I might give that a try since I used to use Proseries and am somewhat familiar with their products. I may just give up on the whole side tax practice bit anyway! Between software issues and the stupid PTIN thing, this is more hassle than it's worth! At least since I am a CPA, I don't have to do all the extra training. Oh well, I've vented enough. Let me go waste more of my day shopping online for software instead of working on the stack of returns I have.
  6. Thank you LInda and Terry. I do approximately 30 individual returns and one 1120s and this is a side business for me for close friends and friends of theirs. So getting inexpensive software is a must. I found Taxact online and it looks reasonable and hopefully, it works. I will browse through some other messages for input. The only downside is it probably won't roll over my clients as I was able to do when I switched from ProSeries to TRX. I guess inputting all the data will be about the same as that is what I was going to have to do with TRX! I AM JUST HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH HOW THEY HAVE RESPONDED TO THEIR CUSTOMERS THIS TAX SEASON!
  7. Okay, so since I have been trying to wait this out and have not paid the balance (only the $50) deposit, I am guessing I need to not pay for the software and make a mad dash to find another software package? I was waiting until January 31 and hoping this software would be usable. I actually called TRX yesterday (FEB 1) to give them my credit card number and pay for it so I could start doing tax work as my clients are getting anxious. I was on hold 2.5 hours. I gave up. I tried emailing the sales lady, Karen, with no response. I gave up. I am guessing from your comments here that I should just move on???? This is really sad considering it is so late in the tax season! Any recommendations for inexpensive software?
  8. Have you figured out if yet if this will be fixed soon? I tried to override the amount and that doesn't seem to work. So basically, I am unable to prepare any returns with Schedule A since it is automatically calculating the sales tax. This is the same issue you are having I am guessing?
  9. I am stil wondering about the proforma issue as well. I have been doing pretty good about holding off my mediocre list of 30 clients for now......
  10. There is no fix to the Proforma issue that I've been told over and over would be fixed with updates. I have yet to get any of my clients to proforma correctly. All that rolls over is a name, address and dependents. There is no W-2 information, Schedule A, B, C, D, SE or any direct deposit information or any state tax information that rolls forward. Is there any fix for this?
  11. I, too, have tried to figure out where to jump ship to. I was with ProSeries, but having a client base of 35 (this is part-time for me), I need a software package a little more affordable and ProSeries raised their rate $100 a year and said all software companies did that. TRX seemed affordable and the software seemed okay up until this year when none of the data would transfer in the proforma and state software is unavailable. I have been told by technical support that the proforma function is only 90% accurate. This is an unacceptable answer as I have worked at a few CPA firms using software such as Lacerte and ProSeries and when a client was unable to be pulled forward, we would have the software company address the issue and if need be, re-enter lost data. However, TRX employees informed me that I WOULD HAVE TO SPEND ALL MY TIME AND HOURS re-entering the data myself on clients that would not roll forward. This is unacceptable. When I explained that to their technical support AND sales manager, they acted like they didn't care (probably because I have a small client base)!!!! Then I was told to wait for the update and since I had paid the down payment to secure the lower price and have not paid the balance, I decided to wait to see if the update worked before paying the balance. I also have not paid because they never sent the invoice that I had to ask for several times. So I asked if the update didn't work if I could get a refund of the down payment I sent last year since the software doesn't appear to work this year. They told me no! So any of you trying to get refunds, good luck. They have no such thing as money back guarantees!!!! I am hoping (like the rest of you) that this gets resolved with updates by February 1, but I am not holding by breath. And based on the "lackadaisical attitude" of each and every employee I've spoken to in the 5-6 times I have called, I am guessing they aren't holding their breath either.....
