  1. If you're using Taxwise, please make sure update 6 got applied. My efile wasn't going through, so I called Tech Support and she had to run a repair on my installation, download the missing update, apply it, etc (I don't have all of the steps, she was using TeamViewer to do it all and I went to my laptop to 'play').
  2. Still only ten states are available.
  3. See, they didn't even put the temporary credit on my account.
  4. Chase told me that disputes have to be filed within 118 days. I did remind them that the software wasn't shipped until Dec 10th. Hopefully, they will reconsider. Could you please PM me with the name of the Chase person that you are dealing with?
  5. I noticed the Facebook page is no longer available.
  6. MaIn Street never returned my call. I went with W-Tax's suggestion. I'm waiting for the registration number from them now.
  7. I never got an email, I renewed when I received the phone call. However, the website promises efiling and ALL STATES. Right now, only ten states are available and I don't know if they are working, so it would appear that the software isn't doing what it promised to do. By 1/30, it should have been able to efile all types of returns that the IRS was accepting and from what I've read it hasn't. I saved the webpage that lists the States and a PDF and the webpage where the features of the software are listed and attached them to my dispute with the credit card company. IMO, the applications meets the criteria for SNAD, significantly not as described.
  8. My bank said they'd look into it. I'll keep you posted.
  9. Today, I signed up for Intuit Tax Online. My only real complaint is you have to send them a file of your last years returns and they will do the conversion. I sent it at 11am and I'm still waiting. It was easy to enter my daughter's easy return.
  10. I purchased mine on 3/7/12. I just sent an inquiry to my credit card company asking if they could help. I gave them a link to this forum.
  11. I agree Terry. I just did a test return using Intuit Online for my daughter, took a few minutes. Though I'd try TRX. Another waste of time. MainStreet Tax phone lines are all busy. Probably TRX members trying to save their practice.
  12. The Attorney General's office at the state level has a consumer complaint division where you can file disputes against someone. Though normally Illinois sucks in everything else, the AG office, in my personal experience, have been very effective in their responsibilities. Check your local website. Some allow you to file a complaint online.
  13. I'm trying to do a return for my special needs adult daughter, whom I claim on my tax return. I can't even get the EIC stuff done! Question 16 is not done and it won't let me click or override it to indicate yes or no. It's showing two error rejection codes, but I can't find any other question (besides Q 16) that isn't answered. Question 7 - daughter is my qualifying child, but it marked it NO. In the Client Info form it is marked that she is disabled and being claimed by someone else as a dependent.
  14. I agree. Its better to post it here where we can't be censured.
  15. PayPal usually gives you 45 days to dispute a charge. Some credit card companies give you longer. When using PayPal, it's best to fund the purchase with a credit card, then you get protection from both of them (you must file with PayPal first when disputing a charge).
  16. Still downloading it and still not additional states.
  17. I don't mind being a beta tester for a new software, but I want it to be ready when I need it. IRS is accepting efiles but I doubt if any of the accepted efiles came from us.
  18. I didn't even try. I don't trust it. Plus, only ten states have been available and nothing has changed in quite awhile. None of the states that I've used is on the available list. The only improvement that I saw was the fact that one of my client returns that did have proforma successfully, now has.
  19. Taxman, here's the link: http://accountants.intuit.com/tax/online/?s_cid=BannerAd&s_ev1=BannerAd_ITO_TaxAlmanac_728x90. They do offer the business returns. The PPR rates are higher.
  20. What's with some of the tax software companies? Redgear did a rework of Taxworks and it's clients are jumping ship, so it looks like if TRX stuck with them, we'd be having these same discussions (another forum for tax professionals that I post on have a nice long discussion on Taxworks).
  21. That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure (I just watched part of the Regear's demo for Taxworks and immediately recognized the user interface). I'm contacting Intuit tomorrow. Until Feb 2nd, they are running a special 9 tax returns for $99. I can't wait any longer. I've read that the user interface is similar to Lacerte and I've used that before.
  22. Has anyone looked into Intuit On Line? For smaller volume preparers, it seems like a good solution, unfortunately, I don't see TRX Pro 1040 on the list of vendors they convert from. Is Taxworks from RedGear TRX Pro 1040 from last year?
  23. Not all of the releases have it. Here's a link to the last one which has it: http://70.90.197.61:8080/TaxUpdate/UpdateTemp.aspx?deskVer=4.0.0.17
