    Printing

Here is what I tried and it worked. 1. click on returns 2. click on print returns 3. wait until all forms load Now look at the checkbox above where loading 4. click check all once 5. click check all twice to delete all forms to print 6. select the forms you want to print After selecting the forms I wanted to print it showed me 0-17 which took 9 minutes to print. I have an HP LaserJet Pro 400 color M451dn printer I still need to work on getting a cover letter for federal and state.
  2. I bought an HP LaserJet Pro 400 color M451dn The reason I bought this new printer is because I could not print correctly with my old printer because in the ATX program I could not change the mirror image to off and therefore the pages in the ATX would print backwards. I called ATX a number of times about the problem and still have not been able to talk to tech support. There is still a problem printing even with my new printer. I tried to print a return today and a lot of blank pages printed with one line of gobly gook at the top. It printed a few good pages at the beginning and than shot out a lot of the bad pages. When I printed individual pages it printed ok. Unless they get this fixed, I will use TAXACT.
  3. The best tax bundle that TAXACT has is the Enterprise Bundle which cost $1259 for preparers. 1. It has preparer's 1040;1065;1120s and 1120 Enterprise Editions 2. It has preparer's 1040;1065;1120s & 1120 All States 3. You can prepare, print & e-file unlimited 1040, 1065, 1120s & 1120 client returns Down from that is the Complete Bundle which does not do all that the enterprise at a cost of $999 There are also cheeper plans if you don't need all types of returns and all states. I don't think they have the payroll forms like we have in ATX. I have used ATX for around 15 years and this has been the worst year. I hope they improve the program. I have also used TAXACT in the last few years. I was able to use TAXACT in December to find out where I was in the matter of my taxes. TAXACT is a forms based program and when you click on for example a line in form 1040 instead of the rabbit in ATX you have two obtions, a detail page and an folder. By clicking on the folder on line 7 of form 1040 leads you to where you can add a form to enter your W-2 information. You will see these detail and folder options through out the pages of a return. I like the forms method in entering data. You also have the question and answer method if you so choose. You ask if you can download the programs from the internet. Yes You can call 1-800-573-4287 and they can send you an email to help you download the program but I would also ask that they would send all disk. You can also download from the web. The software sight is: Taxact.com Click on professional taxes at the top of the page. I could not even print from ATX until I bought a new printer today. The mirror image was the problem. ATX sure prints slow and you have to wait a long time. With TAXACT, I can print very fast. I have tried Drake this year also but there is a lot to learn in that program and it is not form based like ATX and TAXACT. Just some thoughts. Let me know what you think!
  4. You better have a (w-2) wages or salary here or you are in big trouble. You can't just take a distribution.
  5. In the change printer, properties, adavanced feature, the ATX program does not let me keep the mirror image off. I turn it off but it does not stay off when I leave the feature. I come back to the feature and the mirror image is on again. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it?
  6. When I printed form 940 and 941 in The Payroll Compliance 2012 it printed correctly. It sure is not printing correctly in the ATX program. I have the lastest update.
  7. When I print from Word or Excel or any other tax program, it works good but when I print from ATX it prints the material backwords.
  8. When I try to print, everything prints backwards. I tried to turn mirrow printing off in the advanced features but it comes back on. It says off when I click off, but when I click on the advance features again it says the mirrow feature is on. Nothing stays even when I disable the whole feature, What is problem? How are the rest of you printing any pages?
  9. In the past, a farmer could file his return and pay his tax by March 1. Since congress was slow in getting the law pass, has the IRS extened the time to file and pay the tax? In the instructions, I still see the same day of March 1 Where does it say they have extended the time for this? If you knw where can you give me a link to the site? Thanks!
  10. I am able to open up two returns so far. An S-Corporation return and a 1040 Return. The program is slower than earlier years but when I wait it opens up for me. If I'm impatient and start clicking my mouse like I did today, it didn't open up once but instead closed down the program after installing the new update.
  11. About the problem I had above, looking at the worksheet I thought why not click on line 6 with the arrow. When I did that, it opened up the worksheet I was looking for in line 4 and 5. I entered the 1st, 2nd, 3rd payments which went on line 4 and the 4th payment went on line 5. So unless I hear different from ATX, I quess that is the answer to my problem. This had to do with State estimated taxes paid for 2012 that goes on Schedule A. Yes KC, I did call Customer service, but I figured the above out while I was on the phone.
  12. I can't enter the state estimated taxes on the worksheet for 2012. On line 4 the arrow would not open the worksheet so that I could enter the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter payments. Line 5 would not let me enter the 4th quarter payment for 2012. When will this problem be fixed with Schedule A
  13. 1. I have rolled over an S-Corporation form from 2011. 2. All the forms from 2011 have not rolled over. 3. The program seems to take longer to open than in past years. 4. One thing that I don't like is that you have to have two different programs in order to have forms you had in the past. For example Form 940 which is in the Payroll Compliance program. And having the second program also takes returns you have purchased so more cost to you. 5. I have also rolled over a 1040 return but there are a lot of forms in that return that are not available. Even form 1040 is not complete even though I can see the form.
  14. 1. Arrows instead of bunny hops 2. If you are in the PRS program, you are charged for two available returns instead of one in the previous years programs. You use one available return when you open up the tax preparation software and you use one when you open up the payroll compliance program. 3. I sure wish they would have left the program as it has been for a number of years.

    Rollover

I rolled over form 1120S today and it worked ok. But there are other forms in the return that did not rolled over but I believe they will when they are approved.

    Reserved

Reserved still shows up on the IRS 1040 form. It is line 67.
  17. Don't you mean form 2210-F

    1120S

Marilyn Thanks for the information. It works!

    1120S

I rolled over form 1120S from one of my clients. Forms rolled over were: Sch K1; W-2; Client instructions and 1120S. It took some time for the return to open. The changes I saw: there were no folders on the top in this new program. Instead a list of forms were on the left. I wonder why they made this change. I know other tax software has forms on the left but I liked how ATX had the folers on the top. The pages and worksheets were on the bottom as before. At the bottom it also included a way to expand your page on the computer screen. So far this is the only return I have rolled over. Still waiting for more updates to the program. I wonder when Form 940 will be available?
  20. Concerning form 4562, what about farmers that need to send in their tax return by March 1 if they have not paid estimated taxes.

    Form 940

The form I'm speaking about is the "Employer's Annual Federal Unemployment Tax Return"

    Form 940

I read that the due date for filing Form 940 for 2012 is January 31, 2013 This form is for an S-Corporation. How are you taking care of this problem?
  23. Thanks for your replies! Let me give you an example! 1. You have a net profit of $28,678 on Schedule F 2. Of the profit in line 1, $24,128 is from CRP payment 3. What amount do you include on line 4 of the self-employed health insurance deduction worksheet? The above goes to the original question. The worksheet in the ATX program does not say anything about "do not included Conservation Reserve Program payments" whereas publication 535 on page 20 does. One tax program I have deducted the CRP payments from the net profit and entered $4,550 on line 29 of Form 1040. The ATX program does not subtract the CRP payment. Why? Is there something I'm missing?
  24. Then why does it say, "do not include CRP payments?"
