grandmabee
another tax office just informed me that we are now all required to efile any 941's we do for our payroll clients. I haven't even taken the time to look it up because I don't do my 941's until after the 15th. But anyone here have any information on that? thanks
rfassett
I have not heard anything like that and we do over 100 941's and my staff is currently in the process of doing them now - so I sure hope you are mis-informed.
GeneInAlabama
I too have not heard anything about that. My wife does my 941s for me and she has already completed and mailed (to the clients) the ones that have gotten their PR info to me this month. jainen
>>I have not heard anything<< Form 941 itself can be mailed. But according to the Instructions to Form 941, payments must be electronically deposited. Form 941-V voucher can only be used in specific situations. grandmabee
great I'm not ready to do that this quarter. I like to just do and give to them to sign & file. I already do to the electronic deposits. They were saying that we are all considered "reporting Agents".
Gail in Virginia
We have a few that we make payment with return - very small employers who have less than $2500 per quarter. I just read the instructions on the IRS web site and they can still mail in their checks. Nothing different from last year that I could see. Randall
I haven't brushed up on 2012, but I thought for 2011 the monthly payments had to be electronically. But if your quarterly total was under $2500, you could still pay by check with the paper 941. Has this changed for 2012?
grandmabee
no that is the same. I was just asking about the filing of the 941's paper or efile
