Pacun Posted March 26, 2016 Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 I have two clients that file 1099s (No W-2s). I have efiled in the past but this year I heard that ATX is going to charge us. I gave one of them the envelope and ask that person to mail it. I have just sent the efile from the other's client 1096 and 1099s to ATX and I wonder at what point they will charge me. In early March they posted on their blog that they'd initiate the charges for those 1096 forms efiled through them; I have yet to see any charges on my credit card for that nor any other correspondence on it. IMO $1.50 per is a pittance in the grand scheme of things. Nelco charged me upward of $1.89 per W2 efiled with the State of Louisiana. Jack from Ohio Posted March 26, 2016 Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 I only e-file 1099's. I only electronically transfer W-2s. One main and overriding reason. ACKNOWLEDGMENT. If there is ever a question by the IRS, only electronic acknowledgment will be accepted as proof of filing.
