TRX and TaxSlayer uninstall

I was not happy with ATX support and slow Acks this year. MAX is pricey for me (semi-retired, and doing only 50 returns), but I may have to stay with it. I have downloaded the TRX and TaxSlayer demos, and don't like the print options in either, and definitely don't like the questionnaire input in TaxSlayer.

I used a program called "Revo Uninstaller", recommended by PC World, (Google it for a free download) to uninstall TRX. It used the program's uninstall program, and still found 7,000+ registry entries and 600+ files remaining on my computer. TaxSlayer slips under its radar and has no uninstall option. You can remove it using the Control Panel "Add or Remove Programs" feature, but I think the only way to completely remove it is to create a "Restore Point" before installation.

I am still looking for a program that will do individual, business, and fiduciary returns, with some W-2's and 1099's, at an affordable price.

I have already changed to TRX and I love the print options, it lets you set the forms you want to pring for every client, unlike ATX you have to keep checking boxes every return you do.

I also like the forms entry in TRX almost like ATX. I have tested TRX with my two bigest clients and it worked fine, and in about the same time it took in ATX.

To clean out your registry try a registry cleaner. Go to www.majorgeeks.com they have all the programs you need to clean your registry.

I tested several registry cleaners and ended up with MaxRegistry Cleaner (http://www.maxregistrycleaner.com); it found more errors and problems than any of the others I tried.

I like ATX better than TRX or Orrtax. I sure did not like doing a system restore to remove the TRX program from the computer.

You would be ammazed how many programs out there that do not have uninstall features.

And what is so hard about using the control panel uninstall, most of the time it does a better job on the uninstall.

ATX has an uninstall feature whereas TRX doesn't. When I went to the add/remove programs in the control panel to delete the TRX program I was afraid I would delete some files that might affect other programs I had on my computer.
