Maybe four out of 100. I don't even mention the rebate, cause they either don't remember, or jump on me saying, "I don't have to pay tax on that!" Plugged the info into the IRS website for a client, and got the amount $503.09 (????). Thought that the amount given was before any offsets. If I had time, I would try to figure the amount out. I had a weird amount on one; $513 and change. AND I had one where the website payment listed was $20 off from the form they got sent (one of the few who brought the bleeping form). I've just been checking the website for every client anyway. And I've got one coming in that got way less on their stimulus payment than the IRS on-line estimator last year indicated; that one is going to need investigation too. But if it is down, what other choice do you have but to trust either the letter or the phone call? I guess I would trust the phone message. Terry D.
