ATX TTO SUBSCRIPTION

Recommended Posts

In all prior years my ATX subscriptions have included the Federal Tax Expert research product. Today when I attempted to access it online I received a notice that I was not a subscriber!!! Though I have sent ATX an email no reply has yet been received. Anyone else on this board have information or other/similar experiences on this issue  ?

Thanks,

After a telephone call to Gil at ATX (the e-mail came back undeliverable) the explanation is that they are updating the web-based system.

I upgraded from Max to TTO, and I have not been able to access the research portion of my order (although I have been billed!)

I was on the phone (yesterday) with several people at ATX, Kleinrock, TaxWise, and was told both that they are in the process of updating (not very believable), and then I was told that my subscription would not allow me to access research until 1/1/08.

I told them I was not very happy with this, or with a lot of the other changes I have been seeing under CCH's watch. The people I dealt with were pleasant enough, but nobody really seemed to know what was going on. Not very encouraging, I must say.

I'll try again to see if I can access the research, I'd love to be able to finish my CPE without having to pay someone else.

Nope, still can't access the Tax Expert Online. So it goes...

I had a little time and thought I'd install the 2007 ATX TTO program. The activation codes are for MAX, which explains why online I'm unable to access the research program (it's not part of the MAX subscription). When the program came up to be MAX and not TTO I cancelled the installation.

I left phone message for the person I spoke with this morning, sigh, he's busy.

KC - question - if I do go ahead and install MAX once they do send me the proper activation codes for TTO will I have to uninstall MAX, or will the proper activation codes allow the TTO to overwrite MAX? I know, it's really a question for ATX technical support but the only emails I can get to go through are to the sales dept.; those to technical support either come up with an error message immediately or are returned as undeliverable.

All help and guidance appreciated. I'm glad I tried doing this now (when it's a LITTLE slower) instead of waiting until 1/31/2008.

I just got off the phone with Jamie in ATX's subscription dept, who asserts that my lockout from online research will be fixed in a few hours; that her supervisor attributes the lockout to ATX's having forwarded to Kleinrock/CCH access codes only from an "old ordering system" and not also the "quick start" system in which my TTO subscription is recorded.

This was after I'd spoken to a Kleinrock techie -- who first identified my lack of privilege -- then a CCH subscription-services person who also 'saw' my account but likewise saw it lacked online privileges.

I advised Jamie to drop by this thread, and see who else is having this problem.

Fingers crossed, y'all. Kurt

Question for those of you who use TTO.

I've been buying 1040 Office and Total Kleinrock Office (TKO) over the past couple of years. TKO includes Zillion Forms, W2 & 1099, plus Kleinrock's research resources.

Total cost is about $230 less than TTO, and I've never been able to figure out what TTO offers that I don't get with this combination.

Has anyone done this comparison and may know what TTO provides that you don't get by buying 1040 Office plus TKO? Just for info, I don't efile so the e-filing benefits aren't important to me (yet).

This year it's even more important for me to find out since I may buy TKO but switch to another vendor for my 1040 program, and I'm hoping someone can provide some insight into this.

Can't help you there cause I use MAX. I thought you were just holding out for the steam iron or the blender??
